Well with the Sara Evans (who?) announcement I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for the next one to be announced.
Forget the music, let's focus on getting the campaign for liberty off the ground.

Just because you haven't heard of someone doesn't mean that no one else has.
Sara Evans (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sara_Evans)
Sara Lynn Evans (born February 5, 1971) is an American country singer-songwriter who has had numerous top 10 hits.
Sara Evans was one of the few traditional-styled singers to emerge from Nashville in the late 1990s, according to All Music guide. Since emerging from the late-90s, Evans has become one of Country music's most popular female vocalists, acquiring a few No. 1 Country hits and Gold and Platinum-certified albums by the RIAA, like 2004's Restless and 2005's Real Fine Place, which are her biggest selling albums to date.

Yeah, there should be another announcement for a musician coming.
http://www.targetcenter.com/default.asp?targetcenter=87&objId=496
"Two internationally renowned musicians will headline the musical portion of the show. They will join rock star Aimee Allen‚ NBC’s Tucker Carlson‚ Barry Goldwater Jr.‚ Gov. Gary Johnson‚ conservative stalwart Grover Norquist‚ former Reagan deputy Attorney General Bruce Fein‚ presidential historian Doug Wead‚ and many other special guests to be announced soon."
I think some people are confusing the musicians playing at the Ron Paul Nation Celebration with the musicians playing at the Rally for the Republic.
Here's the Ron Paul Nation Celebration info, which is the free concert at the Blaine National Sports Center being held the night before the Rally for the Republic: http://rally.campaignforliberty.com/schedule/?id=10003&title=Ron%20Paul%20Nation%20Celebration
"Ron Paul musical favorites Rockie Lynne‚ Aimee Allen‚ Mark Scibilia‚ Rick Ellis‚ and emcee Adam Curry will be our entertainment for the evening. Ron Paul will be speaking at 10:00pm!"

If you don't know Sara Evans, you don't know modern Country music.
A note to all you Yankees: there's nothing "country" in "modern country music" - it's nothing but pop music with a dash of lap steel guitar, and a catchy lyrical hook - if you call that country, you ain't country. :D
Merle Haggard, Lefty Frizzell, Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, (early) Willie Nelson, Dale Watson - THAT'S country music.
I'd rather NOT know modern country music. Kenny Chesney & Tim McGraw are about as country as Ted Kennedy.
I reckon we'll take what we can get though, right? ;)

I'm hoping the second band is on the caliber of U2 for example.
Maybe we need the Dave Matthews Band. They sold out Soldier Field in Chicago two or so nights in a row for a total of like 200,000 tickets or something like that. I think it was a record at the time it happened.

+1, Somebody committed murder down on Music Row. If you like classic country music you should get Sirius XM, which has full channels dedicated to it. Give me Cash, Waylon, Nelson, and George Jones any day before most modern country singers (there are some lesser known ones who are good).

Everthink about the names of the RNC and R4R venues? John McCain at the Xcel Center and Ron Paul is at the TARGET center.
sara evans, is sort of like pop country, not real country... like carrie underwood, or sheryl crowe... and yes when i was 21 she was really popular... and i don't listen to country (rarely, i like some of the old stuff, cash, hank, willie, waylan) but i knew who she was, and one of her songs "born to fly" was really popular, and it used to be one of my favorites (to sing at least)

we should have organized a Ronstock for freedom/peace when we had a lot more momentum many months ago. The march was nice, but if we had some real big name stars come out for peace unified with Ron Paul it would have gotten the worlds attention. Shame.

I don't think it is fair to blanket all modern country musicians as the same. There are plenty of neo-traditionalists out there and many of them get a lot of air play.

I know, that was sarcastic mockery. Apparently you overlooked the post by Libertarian4321 on the 4th page, which was in reply to my original post. AC/DC and CCR are TRUE rock n' roll, just as Ron Paul, Barry Goldwater, and Pat Buchanan are TRUE conservatives...phonies like John McCain and Sara Evans ascribe to the labels of conservatives and country music singers, respectively, but they're NOT true.
That's 'bout all I gotta say 'bout dat der, cause I'm a slow-witted country boy stuck on TRUE country music.

What would be cool is a real band like U2 show up, hell, I'll praise even a twit like Britney Spears if she suddenly endorsed The C4L. We need publicity to wake up more people, when an event of this magnitude is planned it is either make it or break it, either we will win and gain momentum or we will die off into obscurity because well, we are just obscure, and nobody wants to associate with that, despite what we believe in our hearts to be truth.....
