The Republican Party votes for it's officers on all odd-numbered years, and votes for it's candidates on all even-numbered years. Coming in 2009 is an opportunity that we have where political interest in the GOP from the grassroots is at it's lowest ebb in history, and only a few extra people can vote out the old guys and vote in the new guys.

We need people, most of all, to hold a position in the GOP (and actually DO the job, better than your predecessor!) and to attend your GOP Conventions starting early in 2009, and to pledge to attend all of the conventions up to the State GOP Convention. We carry an open agenda of restoring strict construction in the party and in the nation as a whole. We will need your votes in order to establish our imperative, and then we will have the political capitol to impress the need for a return to Constitutional values upon the GOP infrastructure as a whole.

With an ever-growing hold on the establishment structure, by 2010 we will have the capacity to promote candidates for Congress from amongst the active GOP, based on their philosophy of construction.

A kind of primary I would most like to see;

I would like to see the top three GOP candidates for an office presented in the primary, in three categories: 1) one Fiscal Conservative 2) one Strict Constructionist, and 3) one Populist Conservative.

Then, as members ourselves of the GOP hierarchy, we promote discussion and debate amongst the grassroots Republicans.

I am thinking of county-level GOP websites with an open discussion forum, where candidates and office holders post among citizens of their county, and most importantly, maintain an open dialogue between officeholders and the electorate.

Any time you want to communicate most intimately with your elected GOP representatives, your first stop needs to be county-state.gop.com/forums The county.gop.com/ website needs to be your uber-portal for all things political.

The candidates for the Republican Primaries could then use state-level boards to debate issues on a moderated level, with the moderator copying questions and input from the county boards up to the state boards etc.

Promote wide use of this board for discussion amongst the community. Posting privileges should be verified by GOP membership number, with some guest forums for non Republicans to ask questions.

The candidates can actually have an open discussion with the public they represent, via the internet. Promote grassroots involvement within the GOP community at your local level, and then we can capture the largest and most well-discerned voice of the community as a whole.

Truly, for once, we will be able to select candidates for the primaries based on a detailed and open discussion with the community at large. We would like to make your county.gop.com/ website your first and last stop for political influence and help.

So then, having so deeply connected with the community in the 2010 races, we have another off year in 2011, when the Taft-Goldwater arm can restore more control over the GOP establishment, finally leading to 2012, when we can apply this new 'grassroots interface' to the Presidential race writ large.

In the open forum of ideas, there is no stronger argument than conservative strict construction. Therefore, let us re-make the GOP into a completely open forum for ideas, and then use that opportunity to educate the active masses on strict construction, and promote Constitutionalist candidates from within the GOP.

Down in this neck of the woods, we didn't manage to get any candidates going for federal House or Senate. We are, however, very hopeful that we'll be getting multiple candidates into the state House and Senate. The State Senate, in particular, is close enough to being divided evenly between the two teams of thieves that our candidates could wind up breaking a host of tie votes--an extraordinarily powerful position. And a couple of terms in state legislature will be excellent training--and decent name recognition--for federal office.

Don't leave us now. It may not be happening as fast as we'd have liked, but the pace will pick up as we enjoy successes and as the economy tanks. Help get the brand established so people know there's a different brand of Republicanism out there--one equipped to deal with the new economic challenges.

Right on Gunny! This is exactly what we should be working towards, and it can also be done in the Democratic party in areas where they are entrenched.

Well, in 2009 the focus will be overturning GOP establishment within the ranks of the party itself. in 2010, the focus will be assembly and congress members.

I have already thought that this action needs to be taken in both parties; but at the moment we already have a massive toe-hold in the GOP, and we can only do so much at one time
