If Garrison Keillor, the creator of A Praire Home Companion speaks at the Target Center, it will sell out. He is a Minnesotan and very famous!

It will be standing room only with him involved!

I have never really heard him discuss politics in depth, but I love his radio program.

Before you start running in circles, chasing your tail, you might want to make sure the organizers would even want Garrison Keillor.

I see NO CONNECTION between this guy and the CFL.

I have always had the impression he is quite liberal and has a notion of a "social contract." He also wrote a book called, "Homegrown Democrat" and I think he is for national health care.

His sometimes GOP bashing reveals his political point of view.<IMHO>

A better person to speak would be Arizona libertarian-Republican Jeff Flake. Is he going to be his party's convention or is he going to sit that one out? Because if it's the latter, somebody at CFL should jump on that opportunity. Especially since, like McCain, he's an Arizona Republican, but the difference is Flake is more of a Goldwater Republican.

I never heard of him period and really don't think I care to either. Jesse Ventura will sell the place out singlehandedly.

I think pigs will fly before Kellior address the Rally for the Republic. He is a hard core DFLer.

I happen to enjoy Garrison Keillor and "Prairie Home Companion".

But don't even think about him attending, nor would anybody want him to.

His politics are run of the mill, "Great Society", left - wing bromides.

Unless, of course, he read Manifesto and had an epiphany.

That is possible. He donated to Ron Paul.

Incorrect: Garrison Keillor donated to Obama and Al Franken according to the Huffington donor listings. http://fundrace.huffingtonpost.com/neighbors.php?type=name&lname=Keillor&fname=Garrison&search=Search

If he donated under 200 dollars to Ron Paul, it wouldn't have shown up on Huffington's donor listings. His name did show up on ronpaul2008.com for at least a 25 dollar donation.

That sounds more correct.

Well, if he sends $400 to Obama and $25 to RP (if he did), I wouldn't really label him as an RP supporter.

Humorless Garrison Keillor Threatens to Sue Blogger for Parody

In a decidely unfunny move, Liberal comic Garrison Keillor is threatening to sue MNspeaks blog over a parody slogan on a t-shirt they sold. As Attorney Kraig Baker told the Igniting Buzz Conference yesterday, sending a cease and desist letter to a blogger is a really dim idea. Yet that's just what Keillor's lawyers have done.

"You have to think about how important winning legally is to the brand overall," Baker said. And in this case, Keillor has done big-time damage to his brand among bloggers, who are adding derogatory posts about Keillor by the second.

Of course the Cease and Desist is posted on the MT Speaks blog. "Man, this guy is getting old," they write.

IF GK was HALF cool, I would give him a break. He isn't. He is an old fart with a parched asshole demanding that others set him and his wheezy ol' rancid flatulence "free". I say, not without my gassy masky. :D
