I have my AR and am looking at purchasing a bushnell elite 4200 scope (wanting to stay less than $500) to match to this to reach say 400yds. I am not for sure which strength of scope to go with to be an accurate shooter with at this range.
ALSO
I am looking to purchase a 1000yd accurate rifle and am not for sure of which type to go with. I have read about the .308 and the 30-06. From my little understanding the 30-06 is more powerful, is this correct? Secondly what are the tiers on either one of these rifles? From a price/general munitions availability standpoint which would be the one to go with? Which strength of scope will be effective in meeting that distance requirement? I have heard and read that savage makes good accurate long range rifles, would anybody hesitate in purchasing one of these? I would like to be no more than $1500 into rifle with scope, is this reasonable or cheap?
I will be purchasing Boston T Party book here real soon to learn about weapons, so I am sure that will help.
