I will likely make minor edits to this schedule as things develop over the next few days but I wanted to release the details out so those who are joining us will have an idea of when/where we would like for you to show up.

-------------

The Great American Walk for Freedom (www.walk4freedom.com) -

MN Schedule - August 30th -Sept 4th Schedule

Saturday - August 30th
Hudson, WI (Bridge) to St. Paul (Midway) Approx. Distance - 22 mile
7:30 a.m. gather - 8 a.m. start

Map - http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=2157041

Don't fear – very few, if any, of us will walk the entire 22 miles. We do want as many of us as possible to show that morning to walk over the Hudson Bridge and then again join the group later when we get into the city limits. Please note that we've talked with the St. Paul PD and then have requested that we limit signs and banners in order to avoid being classified as a "demonstration". We instead recommend bringing American flags or keeping your hands free to pass out literature.

Sunday August 31st

St. Paul (Midway Walmart) to Minneapolis (Loring Park) Approx. Distance - 7 miles
7:00 a.m. gather - 7:30 a.m. start

Map - http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=2157052

We will be walking into Minneapolis WITH RON PAUL and join the Liberty Parade at 1 p.m. (www.libertyparade2008.com) and end in Loring Park with a booth, available beer garden and other fun events. For those attending the C4L political training session that day, you can still join us for an hour or two in the morning to get your exercise for the day :)

September 1st, 2008

Walk For Freedom Picnic hosted by Minnesotans for Limited Government - MNLG (www.mnlg.org) at Langford Park (St. Paul). 2 p.m. - 5 p.m. w/ special guest RON PAUL

Dr. Paul will join us briefly for the picnic at 3:30 p.m. at the Langford Park near the State Fair grounds. We will be allowing enough time for Dr. Paul and others to get to the Nations Celebration in Blaine later that evening.

September 2nd, 2008

Rally. - Optional walk from Boom Island Park, Minneapolis to Target Center – 10 a.m. to 11:30 Approx. Distance – 3 miles

Walk past the Federal Reserve and the Ron Paul billboards downtown to the Target Center for the start of the Rally for the Republic.

September 4th, 2008

Public Viewing Area and Open Forum Stage - St. Paul – Outside Xcel Center
http://www.ci.stpaul.mn.us/index.asp?NID=2727

Permits were granted for our group for the Open Forum Stage from 7:00 p.m. to 7:50 p.m. They saved the best for last :)

Note to walkers:

If you participate in any of the walks, please bring weather appropriate clothing, water, shoes, easy to carry food or anything you need to go that distance. If you have extra copies of the Constitution, Declaration of Independence, CFL flyers bring those – otherwise we'll provide literature to hand out. Remember, this is a non-partisan event promoting our basic founding documents and principles so please limit anything controversial.

We know ronpaulhawaii is going to walk the whole way. (at least he'd better!!).

Like you said though, no need to walk the 22 miles that day, but we would like to have as many walkers as possible for the walk by the State Capitol and GOP Hq. :D

o.k.

The walk on the 31st now starts at 7:30am. We will walk west down University Ave, then Hennepin Ave to Federal Reserve Bldg.

After the book signing in Rosedale on the 1st (1-3pm), RP will make an appearance at our Picnic.

The picnic is open to anyone. We will have food and speakers. It is 2-5pm. Plenty time to go to the Blaine concert later that evening.
