I have this really great friend who knows a little about Ron Paul and is a republican, yet for some unknown reason hasn't voted in years, if ever, mostly due to living aboard.

He knows a little about Ron Paul and likes what he sees, but isn't doing his homework.

He told me...get this...Ron Paul is good, but can't win...and directed me to THIS (http://www.imwithfred.com/Principles/PrinciplesSummary.aspx) page suggesting that Fred was CLOSE enough to Ron Paul's message and has a better chance to win.

WE have to debunk Fred seriously. We/I need links to his lousy voting record and proof he is still CFR.

This (http://www.imwithfred.com/Principles/PrinciplesSummary.aspx) website scares the hell out of me.

HELP!!!

Fred will sink like a rock.

I can't figure out why his head bobs so much when he talks.

Dont worry, when people see this guy stumbling in the debates, alot of them will question why they every liked him in the first place. They might not like RP either but it will be because of Iraq, and these brownshirts wont change on that anyway. His voters will be split between the neo-cons. As mainstream america starts getting into politics, which normaly doesnt happen till september, alot of people will discover Ron Paul and like what they see. I wouldnt worry about this clown, seriously.

This is your typical Fred Thompson supporter right here. The kid who was the bully in highschool. Just trouble waiting to happen.

I don't buy it. We are in this mess because of a press who is now so buddy buddy with people in power they refuse to report anything bad about them and a public who doesn't know what is going on really and hasn't and won't be the protectors of freedoms as their supposed to be. So I don't trust the common person to see a couple of ads by Fred on TV and see his website and realize they are being lied to and never look up his REAL voting record.

Maybe I should give the US public more credit, but I don't and this worries me.

Well, if the public is really as easily led as you believe, then we deserve what we get stuck with I guess. You could be right. One thing Ron Paul has going for him though, is that just about all his supporters will show up at the ballots on primaries day.

Everyone keeps talking about these ass hat things. Where can I buy one? Is it a hat for your ass, or is it a hat made out of ass?

In The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich it says "The Germans had no one to blame but themselves."

You are correct; we The People choose the form of Government we want. At the end of the day, all politics is local. That is why everyone should go door to door for Ron Paul.

The Campaign, or someone, needs to get us professionally made DVDs to educate and persuade the public. The RonPaulDVD (http://ronpauldvd.com/)is nice and good for the resources available but we really need a better organized one, by issue, with high quality film. Bring in clips of Ron speaking the consistent message from 20 or 30 years ago. Coupled with their flyer (http://www.ronpaul2008.com/files/Flyer-Issues.pdf)it would make for one educated public.

OK. Start debunking. Much as I like RP, if he doesn't get the nomination, and doesn't run as independent or 3rd party, I may have to choose between Fred and Hillary. I'd hate to think that in that case I'd be voting for someone who is "scary".

So enlighten me. What is so scary about the message on Fred's page? He seems to have the same take on Federalism as Ron Paul. I need something more compelling than "He bobs his head too much" (from a different post).

I agree. Here is a relatively new video that is very good, IMO. It's not what you're talking about, but is the best I've seen thus far. No misspellings either. ;) The guy that produced it, also has said that he has the highres version available to anyone that wants it.

"Anyone who would like to distribute this video is welcome to a higher quality version of it, suitable for DVD. It is WMV format and is approx. 300MB, so it is much too large to send via e-mail attachment. If you know how I can get it into your hands, please e-mail me the info. and I'll be happy to do so.

If you want the country to go to hell in a handbasket, vote Republican (if RP doesn't get the nod). Government grows more under Repubs because the conservative movement goes to sleep. Just look at the 80's under Reagan and the 00's under Bush II. When Bill Clinton was in office, the conservatives were talking like libertarians. Of course, it was just talk. Government still grew but not as fast as under a Repub. administration. If Hilary is elected, the conservatives will get mobilized and stop some of the more egregious legislation. They'll still support the police state stuff and the warmongering but maybe they slow down the complete fascist takeover of medicine.

One difference between Ron Paul and Fred Thompson is their belief on the role of government. Ron Paul believes government only exist to preserve liberty. Fred Thompson believe government exist to protect itself.

ckelly, it's not that Fred's message is scary, it's scary coming FROM HIM. There's a serious cognitive dissonance there, what he's saying doesn't jibe with his voting record. Don't take my word for it, check Fred's voting record against Ron's - Ron Paul has been consistent for over a decade. Ron Paul talks the talk and walks the walk. Fred, on the other hand can be counted on to expand government powers.

Basically, Fred Thompson will say anything to get elected. How stupid does he think we are?

By the way, it isn't just Fred. Mitt and Rudy are also parroting Ron Paul, pretending to care about the Constitution.

Divided Government keeps the pace of growth down. Hillary with a Democratic controlled congress would be a nightmare. You would get your 'free' healthcare at a cost of about a trillion dollars a year making the Iraq war seem like a drop in the bucket, which isn't too far from the truth anyway. The wars in Iraq and Afg have cost a total of about one month worth of tax collections since the beginning.

Without RP our best hope is divided government regardless of who the president is.

What is scary is that it is a blatant effort to co-opt Paul's message. Thompson is an actor hired to play a role. This time it looks like he was hired to play Ron Paul. What's scary is that if Thompson plays Paul better than Paul does, he can potentially cut Paul off from people who should supporter him. Non-Internet people may even come to believe that Paul is copying Thompson!

Very disturbing stuff.

Exactly. Thompson has always been our competition. If we do not get the word out about Paul's stances very soon, to all those who are not on the internet, Thompson will have their votes.
