Those members from Veterans for Peace and Military Family Speak Out organizations/chapters are planning to attend Democratic Convention in Denver Colorado!?!? What's been happening? Are they aware that Obama and McCain have similar strategies and how can we convince them that neither one of them will bring our troops home any sooner? How can we convince them that not all Republician candidates support war? We need strong leaders to address these issues with them and get them to agree and come to the only one place, our rally at St. Paul's.
See email I got from MFSO member below...

Would you like to go to the Democratic Convention with MFSO?
It's official! MFSO will be attending and be actively involved in
actions
at the democratic convention this year. The national office, Iraq
Veterans
Against the War and other MFSO chapters have been working with your
local
leadership to plan how we can best get our message heard by the
delegates
and presidential candidates. Transportation is free if you come with us
on
the peace van, but there are only three spaces left, so if you would
like to
reserve a seat you need to call me at the number below right away.
Otherwise, you can make your own travel arrangements and we can meet
you
there. There is plenty of free lodging available for MFSO members,
however,
even if you travel separately. Details are below:
Departure Time: Saturday morning August 23
Arrival Time: Sunday evening August 24- yes we are driving straight
through!
Return Time: Thursday morning, unless everyone wants to stay for the
Obama's
big speech at the arena*
Expenses: Just your own meals
Actions: Kathy Young, MFSO member and mother of Thomas Young from Body
of
War, along with Phil Donahue and station KPFK invite other MFSO members
to
join her when they screen the movie at the convention. Other
invitations
include Iraq Veterans Against the War request for our members to help
with
Operation First Casualty and demonstrations, and special arrangements
to
leaflet at the hotels where delegates are staying.
*If you would like to get tickets to hear Obama' s acceptance speech,
please
call this number: XXXXXXXXX.
Fear not- MFSO will also be present at the Republican convention the
first
week in September. I f you are able to attend or wish to go to the
Veterans
for Peace convention in Minnesota with other members of MFSO, let me
know.

I forgot to change my email address with MFSO when I dumped the cable company. Thanks for posting that email. I've no idea why they're attending the Democratic Convention, but I'd like to know what they're doing in Minnesota.
