The Ohio Freedom Alliance (http://www.OhioFreedom.com/) and the Libertarian Party of Ohio (http://www.lpo.org/) have teamed up to collect signatures to put the "Repeal the Income Tax" on the Ohio state ballot.

We need people to help gather signatures! Would you like to help?

and I suspect it will be a court decision that decides the outcome. Its a toss up.
If it passes it will be the shot heard round the world, part 2. To me if Taxachusetts votes it in we are truly in revolutionary times.

Libertarian Party of Ohio is working on the details and we're helping out with the plan.

How did New Hampshire repeal their income tax?

How did New Hampshire repeal their income tax?

Did they ever have one?

Did they ever have one?

in NH, they do have the highest property taxes in the nation, a business tax over 50k in net income I think and meals and lodging tax among others. The good thing though is its more local control and accountability.

In either case, the LPO feels confident they can get it on the ballot and repeal it.

Close, but it actually looks like New Jersey holds that dubious honor.

The top five states (in order) based on median real estate taxes paid are: New Jersey ($5,772), New Hampshire ($4,136), Connecticut ($4,049), New York ($3,031), and Massachusetts ($3,195).

The bottom five states are; Arkansas ($469), Mississippi ($437), West Virginia ($422), Alabama ($328), and Louisiana ($179).

The good thing though is its more local control and accountability.

Exactly...I'm not sure on the current state of affairs but I think that's the idea behind the Free Town Project in Grafton, NH. It's a tiny town governed by direct democracy where a relatively small amount of liberty activists can vote down most taxes/spending.

I have the details now of what the plan is. First, we need 1,000 signatures and send it to the Ohio attorney general for wording approval. Next we'll need to get a half million signatures to get it on the ballot (for a future election).

Once we get a thousand signatures we'll send a press release to the news media and this will generate the publicity we need to launch a mass campaign.

We just need to do this step first.

Who anyone in Ohio? Send them our way!
