when i was very young, i can remember the last few civil war vets.
the men who had been drummer boys for the south survived the
last few men who had been drummer boys for the north. this is after all
the adult and almost adult voluteers an' draftees who were buck privates on
both sides, the next group of men who greatly survived the top brass on either side.
now we have only three ancient trees on this historic battlefield, where there were once four...
