I've been thinking about this for the last year or so. I've been thinking about making a fighting game featuring all the Presidential candidates/anyone political
Each character would have their own fighting style

RP would be Constitutional. His background music would be Stars and Stripes Forever and he would block attacks by unrolling the Constitution in front of him
His fatality would be ringing an enormous liberty bell, loud enough to crush the eardrums of his enemies

Hilary would have the Communist slant.
Obama's special move would be "Inspire" where a crowd of his supporters rush the scene yelling "OBAMA OBAMA OBAMA". His other special move would be "Tax Man Cometh" where he chops the other guys head off and takes their money a la medieval tax collectors.

I used to code in Python, shouldnt be hard to relearn. I know the blender game engine uses python. I also know how to model in blender
If anyone is interested in getting this off the ground, let me know.

I think someone posted a link to something like this that is already available. An online game. Not to burst your bubble, but go ahead and make one too. IIRC the other one wasn't done yet or something.

Oh nifty, their 2004 edition was excellent. Cheers.

My son was just saying last week he'd be interested in a videogame about 'overthrowing a corrupt government', the whole changing/abolishing it theme, but your lead players wouldn't be the politicians, it would be 'we, the people' - all of the biggest duties and responsibilities are up to us, after all. Politicians could have small roles, and even join constiuents in the fight, but inspiring a young (and not so young) generation to understand their place in all of this as 'main role' could be very educational.

It could be a peaceful game, fighting things by votes and/or putting those who break oath of office in prison by getting a sheriff and the militia (which is we the people) to chase them down with car chases, warrants for arrest, constitutional courts of law and handcuffs. Little quotes from various state constitutions would be good. "What is the role of government" would make a great undercrurrent to the game.

Politicians fighting each other results in everyone losing - pit we the people against the oath-breaking politicians, and there's a videogame that could teach some revolutionary skills.

Great idea for a videogame - You play as a voter (yourself maybe?). You are told to pick between candidates after given their positions on issues. If you don't pick a libertarian or true conservative, your hard drive gets wiped.

hahahaha!

the type of government we've been dealing with for almost a century does feel a lot like a bad computer virus. Time to safe mode it, clean it up, and get back to secure foundations/code. State Constitutions = virus protection (we just haven't been using it.)

It'd be hidden in a legal contract, don't worry.

Lol... They give Ron Paul the minimum minority appeal and very low "fund raising ability" :p

You can use Mugen, as the game engine, and create each of the candidates and import them. Mugen is playable on Windows, and Dos computers, and can be ported to a modded XBOX using a Dos emulator.

Eh, It's pretty nifty. Personally, I think I may like the 2004 version better. The games are pretty much the same, just with new characters, a more minimal UI and odd looking bubble characters.

I'd say it's worth the bargain-bin price at least.

What do you do though; like the objective of the game is to get elected?

Lobby for money? Sell your soul to the corporations? There are debates? eh ?

Eh, you play as a presidential candidate seeking to be elected. You travel state to state raising funds, giving speeches, checking the polls to see which issues are more important and how the "nation" feels about the candidates' positions, changing your positions, hiring political agents, using political capital (political clout it's called in this version) to win endorsements from organizations, buildings HQs, giving TV interviews etc. etc.

I believe they have a demo.

I think I'm just going to assume, I am going to hate the premises of the game and leave it at that. :)

Got Capitalism II to conquer if I get bored :D

I know the blender game engine uses python.

Blender is not a video game engine, rather, it has a built-in game engine. It's simply a 3D editor.

And why would you devote your time to such utter garbage? Seriously.
