Hey guys,
Im a canadian, and i went golfing with some friends tonight. That "beheading" story that happened recently is a hot topic around here and me and my 1 friend clashed on what we think should be done about it.
I of course was arguing that we cant prevent this type of shit and nothing should be done about it. Increasing the police state will not solve events like this. I suggested perhaps if people were allowed to carry concealed weapons, someone could've taken the suspect down in time to save the victims life. At the very least a gun would've ensured everyone else was guaranteed safety from the criminal.
My friend was arguing that he thinks more security and more police is the only way to prevent this type of thing from happening. He also thinks more guns means people killing eachother all the time. He really didnt have much of a case, but i wasnt sure how to word it to really make it hit home with him.
What are the best arguments to convince someone who thinks more security cameras and more police are meant to keep us "safer".
Thanks
