Pelosi secretly advising Dems to back drilling-if they are trying to save their political hides. :)

(Of course, that is just so they can be re-elected). Then they will continure to do as they please I suppose.

Maybe this needs to be spread to all corners of the US. Americans will be displeased I think.

Nothing will happen this year though. Lame Duck presidency basically means nothing important will be resolved. That is a whole year of a useless Congress, too. Or does it really begin at the beginning of the second term? :D

Not sure why, but I haven't heard Ron Paul talk about this issue yet..

I know he wants to leave it up to states and local municipalities to decide, which I agree with, but if the moratorium is lifted would they actually get to decide?

Global Warming has nothing to do with the fact that I don't want drilling in my backyard and neither do the people who live around me.

My community would vote to block drilling and Ron Paul would support that.

So my question is, if the moratorium were lifted, would local communities and states be able to decide if drilling is appropriate off of their coastline? Where does Ron Paul stand on the moratorium? I know his position on federal involvement in offshore drilling, but that doesn't answer my question.

I don't support forcing states to do anything. But, if you can show me a picture, or take a picture yourself, of an off shore drilling rig that is visible from a beach or coastline, please show me.

Ron Paul supports private property, and see's the federal governments restrictions on private property at sea CRIMINAL! The federal government has no rightful claim to the ocean.
