The following is a link to an article about Bob Barr calling the war on drugs a failure. However, what he refuses to state is that the main reason why the war on drugs should be ended is because people have an ABSOLUTE RIGHT to put whatever they want into their own bodies! Instead, he talks about how government regulation did not work or stop the usage of drugs.

It seems the one thing that he does not believe in is FREEDOM!

Of course what can we expect from a former drug warrior and self admitted enemy of the Libertarian Party (before it was taken over by republicrats).

get over it already. he's the lp nominee, he doesn't believe in the federal drug war anymore. you act as if he will get elected and lock up everyone who uses weed.

They do? I thought liberty was a philosophy. It's not a guarantee, bro.

Facts.

Pull some more stuff out of your ass, please.

The fact is that Bob Barr refuses to boldly state that individuals have the absolute right to choose what to put into their own bodies. Previous Libertarian Party candidates have been willing to say that but this candidate does not.

What's disgusting is when a Republican like Ron Paul states that the government doesn't have a right to tell people what to put into their own bodies but the LIBERTARIAN candidate will not!

By the way, I think Bob Barr would be very happy with throwing every single non-violent drug user in prison if it would stop drug use.

A true Libertarian would realize even if the War on Drugs had been a huge success drugs should STILL be legal.

He does say that. If you ever saw the news coverage of him. When drugs comes up he says people have the right, especially those dieing. He won't come out and say everyone should do anything, especially when not specifically asked that question.

Anyways, you are too focused on one issue my friend.

I have never heard him say that people have the right to choose what they put into their own bodies without government interference. All I've heard and read him say is that the war on drugs is a failure. He has stated that repeatedly. But I don't care if a candidate thinks that the war on drugs is a failure. I want a candidate who will state that even if this nation was completely falling apart due to drug use that they should still be legalized!

I'm very concerned because he seems to be like a watered down version of the Libertarian candidates that inspired me in the past. For example, he is not nearly as bold as Harry Browne who wanted to get rid of the income tax and replace it with NOTHING. Bob Barr wants to replace it with a huge national sales tax!

I just get a very bad feeling about Bob Barr.

You're being unreasonable. He said it's a failure. He's working with the Marijuana Policy Project to legalize marijuana. What more do you want?

I think he's more bold. He wants more than 300,000 votes (if Mr. Browne even got that many).

I'll tell you exactly what I want. I want him to mention the fact that everyone has a right to put whatever they desire into their own bodies without government interference as long as they are not harming anyone else every time he is asked about his position on the drug war.

He is far less bold that Harry Browne.

Bob Barr does not deserve a single vote until he changes his positions to that of a principled libertarian instead of a compromising Republican.

Also, the Marijuana Policy Project does not impress me much at all. They too focus on the "harm" of the drug war instead of emphasizing the fact people have an absolute right to use marijuana if that is their desire!

Principled meaning radical? No income tax, no drug laws, no firearm laws = no votes. Incremental change. ;)

Freedom is not radical. Others may think it's radical, but it's not.

If supporting no income tax, no drug laws, and no firearm laws means no votes then so be it!

If we sugar coat our message to get votes then we don't deserve them in the first place! We are no better than the neo-cons or socialists!

Incremental change is an abomination.
