Appearing before the Urban League this week, John McCain revealed his plan for imposing a military dictatorship in “high crime neighborhoods” in the United States. An ABC News “blog” provides all the details necessary to send a chill up our spines:

“Answering a question about his approach to combatting crime, John McCain suggested that military strategies currently employed by US troops in Iraq could be applied to high crime neighborhoods here in the US. McCain called them tactics ’somewhat like we use in the military…You go into neighborhoods, you clamp down, you provide a secure environment for the people that live there, and you make sure that the known criminals are kept under control. And you provide them with a stable environment and then they cooperate with law enforcement.’

It appears candidate Obama, if elected, fully intends to recruit young citizens into something he calls a “national security force,” apparently a large paramilitary group “just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded” as the U.S. military. Obama made passing reference to this disturbing idea in a speech delivered in Chicago on July 2. As should be expected, the corporate media, with the exception on the Chicago Tribune, completely ignored the statement and its implications.

It was picked up by the real media, that is to say the bloggers, and Joseph Farah of WorldNetDaily. “If we’re going to create some kind of national police force as big, powerful and well-funded as our combined U.S. military forces, isn’t this rather a big deal?” asked Farah. “I thought Democrats generally believed the U.S. spent too much on the military. How is it possible their candidate is seeking to create some kind of massive but secret national police force that will be even bigger than the Army, Navy, Marines and Air Force put together?”

Someone needs to put the fear of god in to these criminal morons because the general public won't do it. What options are left? If the public cannot act responsibly and clean up their streets what's the answer?

The federal government does not have policing powers for a reason. Note- the federal government was never meant to impliment legislation on the citizens of the states that required a federal police class.
After the 1860's we had an empire, no more state's rights. just american empire. we are coming to your town next!

That power was reserved for the states, and the people of the states.
That is why this is soooo wrong on soooo many levels.
See- we have a government by contract,-wait- we are suppose to have a government by contract, and that contract does not give it the power to police our cities.
