So libertythor's dugg article was popular on Digg about 9 hours ago and I'm noticing from the comments that they're pissed and they know it's the "paultards" who got that story up. For example, they have to say things like "Wow, community service is bad now?" This comment was dugg up a lot. Something like that really scares me... these people are simply phonies. They have waaaaay to much trust in government. I think down the road, if the Democratic Party completely moves towards a socialist party (looks like it will), they will be our main opponents. Because I'm sure we'll have the Republican Party by then... and we'll be dealing with these socialists in the opposing party that use no logic or reasoning... they're in love with party politics and celebrity politicians. Let me tell you, the Democratic Party doesn't look like it will have a good future. At least the GOP is being revived with classic republicanism. The Democratic Party is moving more towards statism every day and their new recruits have no idea.

Since most of the young population (which I, and most of RPF, are a part of) is joining the Democratic Party (with the obvious exception of the Ron Paul movement), I think we will have to deal with a majority of Democrats for a while. But I have a feeling the reason so many kids are becoming Democrats is because the "older folks are Republicans." And it's only a matter of time before the older folks are the Dems and we start getting the younger vote.... and maybe a few more r3VOLution campaigns with another Ron Paul on our side that give us some more attention. =p

We may be pissing them off now, but Obama will piss them off soon enough, I expect. It appears we'll have to sink a little deeper before our esteemed fellow countrymen will wake up and stop digging this damned hole.

Simple comprehension is not taught in schools anymore. That is why Obama drones do not understand that its not the community service that is bad.

I don't know if Obama will piss them off, which is why I was talking about "party politics and celebrity politicians." If you look at a lot of Bush's supporters, they now have to defend a position that they wouldn't defend before. They're so attached to the person and the party that they were supporting, they go with them on every issue.

This is true, but not as true as it has been. On the ground, Republicans are heavily disgusted with the way the people they've supported are behaving. And G.O.P. regulars are usually much more likely to stay in lockstep than Democrats.

I'm certain Obama is going to win this time around, and I'll be honest, I'm actually rather happy. Yeah, it's going to suck for 4-8 years but after Obama gets done destroying everything maybe a lot of the younger Obamadrones will realize that we were right.

Maybe they'd get it if we stopped mislabeling it "slavery" and more correctly identified it as indentured servitude.

"Barack Obama will require you to work. He is going to demand that you shed your cynicism. That you put down your divisions. That you come out of your isolation, that you move out of your comfort zones. That you push yourselves to be better. And that you engage. Barack will never allow you to go back to your lives as usual, uninvolved, uninformed." Michelle Obama

Ignorant zombies they don't even know what is wrong with this country. I guess they assume like the government that money grows on trees. I hope they enjoy the government they are supporting and I sure hope they enjoy the loss of freedom. I can't stand it when I see idiots explain that We live in a free country. Hmmmm were is the freedom I sure feel like a slave here hemmed in with bills and constantly working my butt of for the demacratic social blocks. I love how I can build a windmill or a well in my back yard .... Oh I love how I can build onto my house without having some government dick head saying I need a liscence. Oh sounds like a free country... Oh wait what about voluntary taxes that I pay about 3k to 4k a month and if I stop paying they put my family in the street. Seems like the only people that are free are the elite.

Require 100 Hours of Service in College: Barack Obama will make college affordable for all Americans by creating a new American Opportunity Tax Credit. This fully refundable credit will ensure that the first $4,000 of a college education is completely free for most Americans, and will cover two-thirds the cost of tuition at the average public college or university. Recipients of this credit will be required to conduct 100 hours of public service a year, either during the school year or over the summer months.

I got the above quote from Sen. Obama's website. Obama is indeed proposing required service by college students. The negative consequence initially is that no service equals no tax credit. The positive consequence is that every student that volunteers gets a temporary $40 per hour job for a maximum of 100 hours. Every college student will jump on this fantastic opportunity and every university and college will ensure students take advantage. The government is putting $4000 extra dollars into the pocket of every student. The biggest factor in preventing colleges from raising tuition rates is the ability of students to pay or finance the higher rate. In the end students will lose because universities will have the freedom to increase their rates by $4000 a year. Any student not taking advantage of the service money would be forced to pay extra for their tuition.

Mandatory community service will be a distraction from jobs, education and family.

Besides, people are going to bull shit their hours anyway.

Obama is a jackass.

Digg is full of idiots. It's quickly turning into /b/, cancer included.

Reddit is much better, with more of a balanced audience and more intelligent conversations.

Just mention that the mandatory military service is so that the Occupation of Iran can go forward.
