Here's what I've got so far:
Subject: Liberty Straw Poll- Congressional match-up
On September 17th a select seven liberty minded Congressional candidates will sound off in an online broadcast to compete for your straw poll vote. Voting tickets are available by making a $10 donation to the American Liberty Coalition PAC (the PAC responsible for The High Tide ad, Operation St. Paul and more).
The winner(s) of the straw poll will then get all the donations thus concentrating the reward and gaining them new recognition as a leader among liberty supporters.
All you have to do is visit www.LibertyStrawPoll.com, make a small donation, listen to the broadcast on any one of the media partners and vote. The website has complete details.
So far eight candidates have already indicated interest in the straw poll.
Get your ticket now and spread the message of the Liberty Straw Poll!

Since this is for the masses, I have eliminated some of the "liberties" and the references to ALC-PACs, most excellent, efforts. To say "liberty minded candidates" infers that other candidates are tyranny minded. While that may be true, it is a bit much for the avg voter.
The reference to ALC-PACs efforts will only be understood by the choir.
side note- the seven at the top conflicts with the eight at the bottom. Perhaps I am ignorant here and the LSP is limited to 7 per show? Perhaps just, "additional candidates are expressing interest in future polls"

Thanks! I guess we need two messages, one for the masses of Ron Paul supporters and one for not- the first could have references to ALC-PAC.
Re: the candidates- basically right now we'll have 8 candidates vying for seven spots. The independent review team will select the final seven. So maybe reword that to:
So far X candidates have already indicated interest in the straw poll and are being considered for the final selection of seven.
Or maybe not add anything- just thought it would be good to indicate that they are interested. :)
Thanks!!

Bryan, I took the text from above and wanted to offer an alternative approach. Feel free to use as you like.
===========================
On September 17, an exciting new event will take place which will change the landscape of candidate fund raising: the inaugural Liberty Straw Poll.
A group of Congressional candidates will compete for your vote during the Liberty Straw Poll Debate. The straw poll winners will receive the total value of purchased tickets as their prize, thereby concentrating the reward, heightening the excitement, and recognizing the winners as leaders among liberty supporters.
Visit LibertyStrawPoll.com today to purchase your tickets. Tickets are available for $10 or less (if purchased in bulk). Then listen to the broadcast on September 17 through one of our media partners, and vote!

Bryan,
I like rs3515's version; however, I have one concern.
Where are you planning to advertise this? If you're going to send out an email to all RPF's membership, then part of my issue will be resolved. Which is, there needs to be something in there that lets them know this is legit and just not a new way to scam them out of their money. If it's going to RPF's membership list, then if your name is on it, that would solve the problem. If the distribution is wider than that, we're back to the drawing board as far as showing legitimacy.

For a wider distribution list, might want to add the following line at the bottom of the email (maybe even in slightly smaller font size):
The Liberty Straw Poll event is supported by the following groups: American Liberty Coalition PAC (http://www.alcpac.com), Break the Matrix (http://www.breakthematrix.com), Freedom's Ground (http://www.freedomsground.org), Freeople (http://www.freeople.com), RonPaulForums.com (http://www.ronpaulforums.com), and the Ron Paul Network (http://www.ronpaulnetwork.info).
Just listed them alphabetically, but of course can be any order you like.
