Having read Darrens responses to Dirchas thread, I do not feel that these are Darrens words, and think he was hacked. I do not think Darren would take such offense to what Dircha posted ( I re read it 3x), and think if he did, he would be more astute in his responses, and would have further dissected this post, with contrasting points of view, and not made this generally threatening language.
Look at at his other posts throughout this forum, and those in this same time frame, all are sane and logical. It is not likely to go from one extreme to another in such a short time frame. He has alway maintained a reasonable and sane debate, never issuing profanity ever. He has never made post after post demanding reply, and he always waits for further insight regarding any topic.....
This man is 40 something years old, and these responses are not in character of him, or someone his age.
He is where I am from, and if you read my post history you would see general similarity as to opinion regarding these topics.

If I am wrong regarding this, and these are his words, no excuses made, and I apologize.
~Mik

You know, I read that thread, and I'm pretty sure that was the real Darren. I think it was highly out of character of him, but I think he finally had enough. This forum is full of people who consistently call liberal and Democrats un-American or bad patriots for whatever reason they feel is relevant. For example, in that thread Kregener responded to Darren's rantings with the following statement:

I'll answer your...er...ah..."question", when you openly admit you are a cross-dresser and local chapter leader of Socialists of America.

Ass.

Clearly the cross-dresser statement is an unnecessary ad hominem attack (although probably deserved considering Darren's string of them), however, this is not the first time I've seen some underlying distaste for someone because they're a member of the GLTB community, or because they're a Muslim or a Jew, or whatever other bigoted reason you happen to hold. Ron Paul's campaign is about freedom for every individual regardless of what beliefs they hold, yet this forum has its fair share of bigots who seem to think that freedom is reserved for every individual as long as they're white, Christian, and American. Oh and god forbid they've been influenced by the last 80 years of socialist propaganda! Damn those heathens for being human and not being able to see through constant socialist programming and actually believing the government can help people rather than only take from them!

(Let me be clear here before I get more ignorant shit thrown my way. I absolutely abhor socialism. However, this is a relatively recent situation, and has only come through educating myself due to Ron Paul's campaign. I had been wary of socialism before due to Ayn Rand, but she was never very good at expressing the humanitarian side of libertarianism, not in the way that the Austrian School and Ron Paul have. Thus, before my recent epiphany, I too was seduced by the progressive talk of "if we must have a government, let it be to provide equality for all people." I didn't see it as socialism, I saw it as anti-statist-capitalism, and thus better.)

I think where Darren cracked was with the constant talk about "us, the righteous conservatives" against "them, the heathen liberals". The problem with this point of view is that in general the conservatives and the liberals really have the same goals for the most part: they want to see a successful America where they will be proud to raise their children. However, when we turn it into a battle of "us" versus "them", we miss that commonality and we miss our opportunity to join together to speak as one voice. This is exactly what TPTB WANT to happen.

Now some (most?) of you are thinking, "but the Democrats want the nanny state to take care of us from the cradle to grave and that is the most heinous thing that could ever happen!". And with this, I can agree to an extent. However, what we must keep in mind is that their ENDS is not big government, that is simply their MEANS. Their ends is what I said in the previous paragraph: a prosperous America. And it is certainly easy to understand how they came to believe that big government can make things better considering our education system as well as our major media outlets seem to send us that message every day. They are a lucky few of us who have taken the red pill and woke up from the matrix, so we see that big government is bound to end up in more tyranny, but can we really call those still in the matrix evil for not waking up?

It's time to completely stop attacking liberals or Democrats for what they believe and see that these people are actually more in line with the goals of Ron Paul's campaign than most of the base of the Republican Party, they just don't know it yet. I think many of the remaining base of the Republican Party are those that really support the current world police stance of America, while most Democrats want to stop world police action, except as a part of international peace-keeping forces. However, many of the Republicans are still from the Christian Coalition group who feels it's their responsibility to legislate morality, while the Democrats typically want to move toward more social freedom. This leaves us with one gripe about the Democratic party: they wish to use socialism to solve the ills of this country. There is a simple solution to this problem.... don't alienate them with bigotry or name calling, educate them to the fact that we do want the same outcomes in the long run, and teach them that socialism as a means to those ends will actually make the situation worse.

Now, I perfectly understand that not everyone is capable of teaching, nor will many people have the patience that will be required to educate the socialist masses, and that's fine. All that I ask, is when you next think to make a comment about how bad liberals or Democrats are, remember that they could be your ally because their goals are the same, and if you're going to make a comment that could alienate them.... take a deep breath.... wait 10 seconds.... and SHUT THE FUCK UP!

darren rocks!!! stuff gets out of hand here sometimes.... welcome to infiltration...

i think plenty of people have seen enough of the instigators and agitators to know what's up. if you hadn't... go read the thread in question (last night about the iraq war) read the OP and the ensuing convo. and you'll officially know.

as a side note (slightly related) I would like to recommend a place run by a friend and fellow seeker who is very intelligent, a great conversationalist (if you don't get all f* you i'm right, you're wrong... atleast don't do it first) and has setup a 1st class discussion forum for those who find

ronpaulforums.com and some of the folks who hang out here a little... well... if you should still be reading this, you probably know what/who i mean.

anyway... many of the folks here who (i personally) enjoy discussions w/ very much have begun to make the transition over to...

RONPAULFREEDOMFORUMS.ORG

Let the status quoters bully everyone off of this site as josh and brian watch their traffic plummet (who knows, maybe that's the plan.. get everyone off their keyboards and into the streets... i don't know)... if you feel like maintaining a discussion that requires some degree of mental computation start transitioning over to

RONPAULFREEDOMFORUMS.ORG

And the great thing about JOSH and BRIAN, is that in their fairness, they will leave this post up even though i've advertized a competing site.

S.com still beats M.com, but anymore that ain't saying much....

please administrators, take note before this place is run into the ground.

You will notice I make that stab/half-hearted attempt at humor only AFTER Darren had ignored repeated calls from others to calm down?

No?

I knew that.

I thought those posts were weird too. I just figured he was drunk or something, though. His posts in other threads have been cool and stuff.

It's not really competing, since most of us who use Wayne's site use this one, too. :p

The only people I know who use the word "competition" to refer to different forums in my own line of work are all rabid control freaks hell bent on running their "competition" into the ground. But good luck with your forums anyway, but I won't be joining them. I've seen it over and over again on the internet-forums that are formed out of a hatred for other forums rather than for positive reasons usually repeat the problems of the first forum sooner or later.
