There's a wealth of Ron Paul speeches available. Just queue them up in a loop and you might have 24 hours of material.

No way it's gotta be way cooler and smoother and orginized. I might need a little more money though, especially the way the GOVERNMENT has DRASTICLLY increased radio air stream costs FAR imperportional to satallite radio.
This is honestly going to be another fight against media. And *that* is no joke.
You can read about the legislation at www.somafm.com
Enjoy and check it out :-)

Doesn't that only apply to playing copyrighted music? Or am I thinking of the RIAA deal?

Ron Paul Radio --- or RPR --- just kidding... is going to be the thing. Trust me. We'll fix this all togeather. It takes *TONS* of planning but because I know people in the industry I'll be able to jumpstart something pretty quick. I *hope* so. It's going to need *money*. But there's no denying that Ron Paul Radio is an instant online radio.
I might have enough money to keep it going for about a month... maybe 2... depending on the rates of online radio and how the government taxes us.
That's why I need more information. My friends are still playing the radio, so that makes it appear that things are ok... But this is the real time.... This is going to be happening.
I'm gonna need help. I won't lie.
I'll be dedicated to it. :-) AMERICA

I am going to spread the peace and love the best I can.
Ron Paul said that the "peace" candidates always win. Lets make sure the peace candidate wins the 2008 elections!!!!!!

"UNLESS THIS IS FIXED:
This situation spells doom for webcasting on the Internet, and many services such as Digitally Imported Radio will be forced to stop all public webcasting, switch to subscriptions only, or SHUT DOWN ENTIRELY - WITHIN MONTHS, IF NOT WEEKS!
MOVING AWAY IS NOT AN OPTION:
We do not want to consider moving to another country. First, there are legal precedents where it is established that as long as we serve listeners in the USA, regardless of where from, we are liable for that audience. As the business model relies heavily on affordable bandwidth in the USA, there is no realistic nice way of going around operating at least some of the infrastructure in the USA. Besides we just don't want to and should not have to do this in our own country.
OTHER FACTS:
- Terrestrial AM and FM stations in the USA pay absolutely nothing, for recording industry royalties due to a law made in consideration of promotion value that playing provides in return.
- Satellite Radio services pay 7.5% of revenue.
- So why must Internet Radio pay something that translates to 100-500% of revenue?"

I'm telling you. The online radio station is going to be it's own battle. I'm prepared to fight. Lets garner support. Please. Thanks. DJLOTI

Digitally Imported has incurred heavy legal bills in the last year in our attempts with a few other webcasters to: negotiate a settlement with SoundExchange before the rates were announced, participate in legal court proceedings and hearings by the rate setting judges, and now motions for rehearing and appeals, and who knows what else is coming. For a small company with just 9 full time people these legal bills can be detrimental to our operations, especially if you consider our "opponent" is SoundExchange - a non-profit organization originally created and puppetted by mostly the RIAA.

Why not use shoutcast or Live365? I was under the impression that with Live365, if you allow them to insert commercials, will cost you very little, and if your audience is big enough, you can find your own sponsors to cover the cost of streaming.
You might also find Ron Paul supporters who have servers online that can devote some bandwidth at no charge to serving up several hundred or several thousand streams at no cost to you.
Don't play music, if royalties will break the bank, or find royalty-free music all over the Internet. Truly, today, there is more free music than royalty music. For example, with Live365, musicians make their music available for free to people who have stations, only to get name recognition.
Good luck! Great idea.
