Allen St. Pierre, spokesman for the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws (NORML), likened Frank's proposal -- co-sponsored by Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas -- to current laws dealing with alcohol consumption. Alcohol use is permitted, and the government focuses its law enforcement efforts on those who abuse alcohol or drive under its influence, he said.

I read that Denver legalized the recreational use of marijuana as a safer alternative to alcohol.
When I get on the city council here, I was going to see what kind of support i can get for that same resolution here.
People don't think it will fly here, but i know a lot about two other members on the council who do 'smoke'... so, it may be easier than they think. ;)

it almost passed state wide but the anti -drug people aka pro meth/gay massage group in co springs actually lied in our blue book(voter guide) against amendment 44(legalize) . In my counties lake 52%/summit 62%/eagle56% they all voted in majority to legalize so it will happen next time in colorado, since the pro-meth/gay massages anti-pot folks are gonna be called out for the liars and hypocrites they are;)

denver has legalized it 3 times now in 3 seperate votes;) and we will win the state next time;)

I blogged about it. Interesting that they are giving some mention to RP. There are 7 co sponsors. Most of the news only mentions RP not the otehrs.

BTW All the other sponsors are Democrats. Once again RP is the only one breaking party lines.

Well that is what I wrote about:

And a picture from the propaganda movies about this topic:

Now we just need a Congressman or a Senator to get busted for possession.

Ted Stevens doesn't count (http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=9214170709324600529&q=Ted+Stevens+Net+neutrality&ei=4NKQSPnhL4SUqQKXp8Un).
