[Yet Another] Stupid "Presidential Campaign" Movie coming out in August (called "Swing Vote" and starring Kevin Costner on another one of his ego trips... need I say more?)...

BUT... their marketing people have come up with two sets of HILARIOUS fake TV ads for the candidates.

First the Demo candidate's ads:

Especially THESE two ads... Funny: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XQ_U0QJ3dx0
and Funniest: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S-cBsa73jjA
(Although that one sadly reminds me of an ad from someone else... pandering).

The Rethug Candidate's ads are not quite as funny... (but better from the "attack" perspective).

But this one got me laughing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvLrRC567zQ
(The "I Do's" at the end are priceless.)

I only wish they had taken the farce a but further and named the parties "Demopublican and Republicrat"... instead they stayed with trad party labels... but kind of "swapped" the issues around, having the Dem being pro-life/intelligent-design and the Rethug being pro-gay-marriage, etc.

As I watched the videos, I kept thinking to myself "Who the hell is Bud?"

The supposed "Bud" is "Bud Johnson" (aka the red-neck, jobless, single-parent, good for nothing Kevin Costner character) who has by freak chance (via an aborted ballot) become the "single voter" who will be the sole tie-breaker between the two candidates after a deadlocked tie (apparently in electoral college, his vote deciding the exact 50/50 split in vote results in his state) from the rest of the nation on Nov 4th... at least that is my understanding of the VERY "absurd" premise of the movie.

And the ads are "post Nov 4th" aimed specifically at this "Bud" person.

See wiki for more on the plot/premise:

Like I said, the move will probably be stupid... but I though the ads were funny, if only for how over the top they made them.

Sounds like more "you have to vote for the lesser of our evils or people will die" propaganda.

I saw the preview went I went to see TDK. It's probably just another one of those "best scenes are in the preview" all to common now scenarios. :p I'll probably watch it on cable though just for the send up of the farce of voting.

I did really enjoy the Robin Williams, "Man of the Year" flick though. ;) The evil "Diebold" guys were .
