Mutual of Omaha insurance company recently branched into the banking and money creation business.

Did You know that Wal-Mart was denied the option of branching into the banking business?

Actually, Mutual of Omaha out bid other banks for the two failed banks. Mutual of Omaha has been in the insurance business for 99 years and the banking industry for 1 year.

From the article:

The FDIC said the cost of the transactions to its insurance fund is estimated to be $862 million, adding that the two failed banks represent just 0.3 percent of $13.4 trillion in total industry assets at about 8,500 FDIC-insured institutions.

This is some tricky doublespeak. The FDIC is trying to make people think they can handle reimbursing customers of failed banks up to a total of 13.4 trillion, which is bullshit. They only have about 42 billion left in their reserves after these bank failures.
