information & news distribution network ?

is there a news and information distribution network in development (or existing)that can keep all people informed of what is really happening in our government and with news in general?

i don't mean anything "slanted' one way or another... but something that just posts the facts without any coverup or whitewash.

anyone know of one? if not then one should be developed.
