old news? the variable is.. will previous orbits of the object that comes close to earth change the orbit of this object enough to nudge it into our path later.
With no alterations to the orbit it will barely miss us in 2036.
But if gravity from our planet changes the orbit... any, could be dangerous.

apophis is old news

not too worried, we don't even have to nuke it armageddon style if it's headed our way, just got to push it a little in a different direction and over the years of heading in that direction it will miss us completely
