I have successfully quit smoking. Now I'm hoping to kick caffeine and high-fructose corn syrup. How long does it take? I read that high-fructose corn syrup leads to obesity and maybe even diabetes!!

High fructose corn syrup is pretty damn hard to avoid if you eat anything sold commercially. nless you can afford to shop at Whole Foods or are able to grow your own, you're gonna have a hard time cutting out the corn syrup entirely.

The best step to take would be to stop drinking soda, fruit juices, etc. I drink water and milk almost exclusively.

Good luck. I cut it out completely a while ago, unless I'm at some sort of event that has food, I'm sure it's there. I cook almost all my food and drink only water, 100% juice or organic milk.

it is easy to avoid. Buy Organic, they always use Sugar instead of Corn Syrup.

Your body cannot process energy from Corn Syrup, it stores directly as fat.

You are much better off. Great decision.

The good news? Sour patch kids, aren't made with HFCS! Just sugar!! Woot!

Just cutting back on soda is a great start. That's most of your high-fructose right there. I also love the cheap 'maple syrup' bottles -- flip them around and read the ingredients. 100% corn syrup. :D

But, why oh why would you ever want to cut back on caffeine???
