Very sensationalistic and inaccurate title to this thread.

Now if a plane lost all its engines and only restarted them with moments to spare before hitting something, that would be "almost crashes"

then we are talking about matters of degree. Kind of a subjective topic as to when someone thinks the probability warrants a higher severity of adjective.

That it true. Astronauts in orbit are not in zero gravity, they aren't flying, they are falling. Falling towards the earth at an angle that always misses it.
Some call it falling. Some call it flying.
Both are right.
