I'm looking for a way to convert FLV files to AVI or MPEG-1 or MPEG-2 preferably a simple program that works well and is free.

Also, there has been a sudden uptick of interest locally in liberty info, I have formed a local Citizens for Liberty group and am spreading the message via DVD (burned one-at-a-time on my computer) but I am running out of blank media and am, as usual, flat broke. If anyone could have a spindle sent to me, please send a PM for my postal address.

This is the media I'd get:

Thanks in advance.

Try a Google search with: convert flv files freeware

One link of interest: http://forum.videohelp.com/topic259578.html

The thread is fairly old, so there may be better options, now.

A couple of different software applications were mentioned - definitely look at pros and cons of quality differences.

I use DownloadHelper, which is a plugin for Firefox. It can grab FLV files from any video site, and automatically convert them to about any format you want. I believe it can also be used to convert FLV files you already have on your computer.

edit: I forgot, it adds a logo to converted vids unless you buy the program... probably not what you're looking for.

I always use Aimersoft DVD Creator (http://www.aimersoft.com/dvd-creator.html), it can easily convert all popular video formats (AVI, MP4, MPG, MPEG, 3GP, WMV, ASF, RM, RMVB, DAT, MOV, FLV, etc) to DVD and burn DVD movie played on portable and home DVD players, that's very good, you can check it out for fre
