You're a member of the Socialist party then?

Would you be offended if it said "Don't Vote Republican?" I doubt it.

It's still sensationalist bullshit. He has the freedom to say that; and I have the freedom to call him out for being a pallandering shitspinner. Simple as that.

I'm not Democrat, I'm not a member of the Socialist Party either. I'm independent.

???

1. To carry on a sexual affair, especially an extramarital affair, with a woman one cannot or does not intend to marry. Used of a man.

2. To engage in many love affairs, especially with a frivolous or casual attitude. Used of a man.

I was a Ron Paul supporter in the Republican Primaries. I voted for him in fact.

Philandering is used in OPED quite commonly to refer to the practice of a politician or PAC pandering to the lowest common denominator.

No no, they call it pandering.

I'll clarify the difference between philandering and pandering for you.

Bill Clinton panders with his fly up, and philanders with his fly down.

Quite, but pandering to multiple groups at once has been referred to as Philandering.

Actually, not sharing an opinion on anything else, but yes -- philandering is quite commonly used in that context.

ETA - just like a "philanderer" is used to describe a man who cheats on his wife with several partners; in politics, a "philanderer" is a politician who 'cheats on' his base by pandering to groups his base opposes.

IOW, John McCain claims to be a strong 2nd Amendment rights advocate, but he is a philanderer because he speaks to the Brady Bunch.

BTW - the crooksandliars link seems broken from here. refuses to load. I doubt it, but it may be an Opera thing...ie the target website may have redirects for IE and FF, but Opera stymies it.

ETA - Yup, that's exactly what it was.

Anyways to get back on subject, it's clearly in poor-taste, sure the GOP has the right to their freedom of speech but believe me this isn't going to win them votes. They should be slammed for what they're trying to advertise right there. Trust me if it said "Don't Vote Ron Paul" with that billboard, this whole thread would be a uproar 20 pages long. We all get it, this is pretty much an Anti-Democrat forum but come on, no one thinks this is in very poor-taste on the GOP's part?

no, you got it wrong 3 times, had to look it up in the dictionary, and when you realized you were wrong all along so you because you don't want to look like an idiot your now making up that you have seen the word used in that context. Just tell the truth and admit you just used it wrong, so this thread can get back on topic

Of course it's poor taste, but the reality is that it will lose them more votes than it gains. so, ::shrug:: really. I mean, if I though for a moment that it would actually WORK, yeah, I'd be outraged. It's not the GOP doing it, it's just some idiot guy with more money than sense; and the reality is it will make more people vote AGAINST the GOP than for it. All he's doing is hurting the people he's trying to promote. I mean, really. I think his punishment is created by the very ad he has purchased.

If I were the GOP, I'd ask him to take it down. If I were the DNC I'd hope it stays up until November.

I'm trying to read between the lines, here...

"Please continue to delude yourself into believing that the other party is going downhill at least as fast as we are, so we're still the lesser of the two evils."

That what it looks like to you?

As a huge Goldwater fan, I don't ever want to hear the democrats whine about fear mongering.

In fact that is the entire platform....fear

Fear of the wealthy, fear of poverty, fear of global warming, and fear of gun violence.

What is sad is they fear freedom.
