I just stumbled across this:
http://www.residualforces.com/2007/08/28/exclusive-mngop-state-fair-potus-poll-results-thus-far/

A dedicated reader has sent me the Republican Party of Minnesota’s POTUS poll results thus far through the Minnesota State Fair. I assume all the Minnesota supports know about this straw poll?

From that page:
Fred Thompson - 30.5%
Rudy Giuliani - 20.8%
Mitt Romney - 15.1%
John McCain - 7.7%
Ron Paul - 6.7%
Mike Huckabee - 6.3%
Duncan Hunter - 5.4%
Newt Gingrich - 4.3%
Sam Brownback - 2.1%
Tom Tancredo - 1.0%

As I understand it, the poll will go through out the Fair. And please consider this completely unofficial!

aaah, this is bad !! all paul lovers were most certainly already there to vote, this will go down if we don't do something !!!

the good thing is, 6% is rons name recognition - everybody who knows him votes for him :) :)

probably bullshit, I doubt someone is allowed to count the ballots until all results are in

Well, if more RP supporters would start going door to door giving out flyers instead of standing on a street corner with a sign, maybe that would change. It always amazes me that people are suprised when they find out that Rons name recognition is so low when so few supporters are willing to do what it takes to really get the name out there.

That's what I've been saying for weeks. Get out on the streets and start talking to people.
Here's a good example. I was handing out slimjims at a local supermarket parking lot today and began talking to a woman when I handed her the slimjim. She said - Oh - I saw a sign somewhere with his name on it. THAT is what we need to reinforce. She saw the name somewhere, but it didn't mean much to her. NOW, after I spoke to her, she knows who he is. NOW, she'll read what I gave her and become a voter for Ron Paul.

I've been googling around trying to find anyone else posting these same findings, and it seems I can't find a collaborating source. This very well could be factual "leaked" information, but I wouldn't trust it 100%.

Either way, we've got work to do.

i just noticed that Fred Thompson was at the MN state fair a couple days ago... i'm sure that helped him get more votes

Could you share what kind of reaction you're getting distributing RP flyers door-to-door? Perhaps that will inspire others to follow your example.

Apparently they threw out all votes from the first two days. I wonder if the local Paul meetup groups had sent people down to vote right away, and if this had anything to do with the "reset".

Are you sure the poster didn't mean that he had deleted the subtotals? If that's what he meant, then the running total would still be accurate.

Oooooohhh, OK. That makes sense. I thought he meant that they started the count over on the third day.

Well I still don't like that they're not even checking IDs. You could vote as many times as you want.

The votes from the first two days were "lost" somehow. They're not even using a Diebold, just pieces of paper in a box. Then Fred shows up on Monday, the day I was there, and the guy with the microphone at the front of the booth urged people to come in and vote for Fred the whole day.

I'm going back over to vote again tomorrow. And a bunch of us are going Saturday.

Please help me continue my efforts to spread Ron Paul business cards. I have been giving out 100s of them in the past few days, but I don't have the funds to purchase more and I am going to run out shortly. Can anyone who has maxed out their contribution help me acquire some more? http://www.libertytalk.com/liberty_card_rp.php Use this link or if you know of a cheaper source, let me know. If you don't want to get out there and DO something, then at least help me continue my efforts to reach people.

Is it me or does it seem there is an excuse at any straw poll for these mishaps? sounds very fishy.Ron Paul supporters need to go vote and really get out there. If not, doesn't look good for Ron Paul, sounds like they knew alot of Ron Paul supporters showed so they threw them away??? I want to hear more about this.

I agree its time you go door to door & post FF flyers on cars in parking & ride locations.
