Part of a reminder memo from management to their reporters. I guess writing "news" stories is an ok bias though.

Journalists have no place on the playing fields of politics. Staff members are entitled to vote, but they must do nothing that might raise questions about their professional neutrality or that of The Times. In particular, they may not campaign for, demonstrate for, or endorse candidates, ballot causes or efforts to enact legislation. They may not wear campaign buttons or themselves display any other insignia of partisan politics. They should recognize that a bumper sticker on the family car or a campaign sign on the lawn may be misread as theirs, no matter who in their household actually placed the sticker or the sign.

One has to realize who owns the NY Times. They don't want anybody who works for them to do something they wouldn't approve of.

This would especially apply to people who would have a Ron Paul bumper sticker.

Really cause isn't the NYT the most liberal rag in the world. Maybe it should be corrected to say:

Liberals stand for free speach as long as it in does not offend any person, no matter how little, who may hear or come in contact with the comment or jesture, regardless of who it was intended for, unless they are a white male jedeo christian, then there are no limits to what may be said. If however you offend anyone else you should be locked up immediately for life as you have commited a "hate" crime.

Republicans stand for free speach as long as it does not entail pornography, or other obscenities that may be construed as sexual in nature as layed out in the bible.

The republicans are by far the lesser EVIL. Even though free speach should mean free speach.

NYT hypocrisy was the target of my post. ;)

Yes, liberals paint themselves as the bastians of free speech. But they claim that anything that is offensive is hate speech and should be banned.

The first amendment wasn't meant to protect warm fuzzies.
