Just got a new one (Armalite) and am looking for the best deals on ammo .223 55gr. a local dept store sells 20 rounds Remington for $21 but am really looking to go 500-1000rds and i am not for sure where the best priced place is to get. also what would someone recommend as a good round that will be consistent but not cost out of this world. I know federated is good but tooo pricey for me. is remington good?

all responses are much appreciated

Are you looking for name-brand, defend-your-life-with-it ammo, or are you just looking for affordable practice ammo?

I've never dealt with them for .223. I use them to purchase .32 H&R Magnum rounds for practice shooting. They seem to beat the price of most others on that (relatively rare) caliber.

Thanks for the link. Im thinking the the remington for life ammo but im not for sure as what is cheap and qualifies as plinkers as i need some of this as well but so far havent found any plinker ammo that is cheap. i was hoping to find a good amount of rounds for $100 or less for practice.

Nice, thanks for that, you're my hero ;) They have bulk .40 S&W for cheaper than even Wolf ammo :) I'll be buying from them at some point.

Search the Internet for coupons....do you live near a Dick's Sporting Goods? There's a coupon for $10 off an order of $25 or more.

I usually buy the 50 round box of Remington 55 grain. It's a little overpriced at $30 for 50 rounds, but with the coupon it's a decent deal.

We're all hoping for that, friend. :(

Aim has prvi-partizan for 45 cents a round, hollow point match in 200 round battle packs ($89.95). I have some in 308, I like it. SO far no issues.

This provides a daily aggregate of ammo prices from several vendors.

S&B 55 gr from natchezss.com is $350/1000

I have shot about 1500 rounds of this with zero problems. It's brass cased, copper jacketed steel core, non-corrosive primer. Decent stuff. Of course I bought a bunch when it was $300/1000.
