Big news! Tucker Carlson is confirmed as our emcee for the Campaign for Liberty rally in Minneapolis on September 2nd. Former New Mexico Governor Gary Johnson and pop star Aimee Allen (http://youtube.com/watch?v=SBCKMTo210k) have said they'll join us, too. (Governor Johnson, by the way, vetoed 750 bills, with only two overrides, during his tenure. Sound like anyone you know?)

More special guests, musicians, and speakers will be announced in the coming weeks. Tickets will be available soon, but we hope you are making plans to be there.

Also, on Monday, September 1st, we are hosting a full day of events: precinct leader training, a Ron Paul book signing, and an evening concert. So we hope you can arrive in time for both days' events! A team is working around the clock to manage logistics, find hotel rooms, and provide transportation in Minneapolis. We'll have a detailed update in a couple weeks with the launch of the new rally website.

And speaking of the Campaign for Liberty Rally website, we need your help! We've set up an online contest for people to submit their best design for the site. The winner, who will be chosen by next Wednesday, will receive a personally autographed copy of The Revolution: A Manifesto by Ron Paul, a check for $250.00, and the satisfaction of knowing you had a large part in this historic event. To participate, click here (http://99designs.com/contests/9058).

Furthermore, many of you have submitted ideas for the Campaign for Liberty, and we are listening. Keep them coming (http://www.campaignforliberty.com/contact/). We appreciate your feedback and patience as we develop our program, which will be fully unveiled at the September rally. For the latest information, the Campaign for Liberty blog (http://www.campaignforliberty.com/blog/)is a great place to visit. We also hope you'll stay involved in your Meetup groups, communicate with your state leaders, and remain engaged in your local Republican Party.

Finally, this week brought us some sad news. Kent Snyder, the Ron Paul 2008 campaign chairman, passed away after his tragic battle with pneumonia. Everyone who knew Kent knows his dedication to the cause of liberty and the sacrifices he made for our movement. He will be very deeply missed, and we are all very saddened by his loss. The Kent Snyder Memorial Scholarship Fund has already been set up (http://www.campaignforliberty.com/blog/?p=110) in his honor. And any donation (http://kentsnyder.blogspot.com/) to defray his staggering medical costs would be greatly appreciated by his family.

In liberty,
The Campaign for Liberty Team

P.S. With war with Iran (http://www.campaignforliberty.com/blog/?p=100) rumored, our Constitution under renewed assault, and the economic disaster Ron Paul warned about (http://www.campaignforliberty.com/blog/?p=115)unfolding all around us, the work and ideas of the Campaign for Liberty have never been more urgently needed. Please spread the word far and wide - to friends, family, Meetup members, and anyone else you can think of who shares our commitment to peace and freedom. Let's keep those membership numbers growing and donate (https://www.campaignforliberty.com/donate/) to the Campaign for Liberty!

Ya, the email has a lot of links in it too, but those obviously don't copy/paste over

yeah, I edited some of them so they're clickable...a lot of them just refer to blog entries on the CFL website.
