Justine Lam, former e-campaign director for Ron Paul 2008 writes:

After speaking with Joe Becker, who is in touch with Kent's family, I've started this site to help raise money to pay for Kent Snyder's medical expenses. He didn't have medical insurance due to a pre-existing condition. His family really needs our help to pay off the expenses which total more than $400 K.

I know that most of you already have given a lot of funding towards the presidential campaign, and to Campaign for Liberty. Kent's family really needs our help, and it'd really be appreciated if you can give whatever you can afford.

Please consider contributing to the chip-in to help cover Kent's medical expenses. You can do so, as well as read furter reflections on Kent, at http://www.KentSnyder.com.

Moderator Note: This thread is for promotion of the fundraising effort to help pay Kent Snyder's medical bills. If anyone has questions about the veracity of the chip-in, a new thread has been created for just that purpose and it is located, here:

edit: the real link?

Haha.. yes, this is legit. Justine created the site herself, and AcousticAlaska is Joe Becker's (Chief Legal Counsel, RP08) handle on the website.

Is there anyway to get this shite:

The presidential campaign for which Kent worked so tirelessly provided no medical benefits to any of its employees, thus putting the entire burden of these expenses squarely on Kent and his family.

off the site?

Frankly, i think this says alot (of not very good things) about whoever wrote it.

Was there someone else from Florida who passed away as well? Perhaps there should be another chipin. I forget who but I thought there was and didn't want them to be forgotten.

RIP Kent.

People we need to help out his family! His medical costs were at around $400k and now his family have to pay for them! We need to help out with a donation:

Kent Snyder Medical Fund - http://kentsnyder.blogspot.com/

Anything will do. Come on, we made millions in a day, we have until 17th July to make 400k. We can do this. He did so much for the campaign, the least we can do is show his family our gratitude.

And how was this off-topic?

The goal of this thread was to fundraise. Naysaying on a fundraising thread impedes the OP's ability to raise funds. Rather than create separate subforums for such naysaying, as was done for the blimp, complaints regarding the fundraising, were preserved and moved to a thread specific for, complaints regarding the fundraising.

The goal of this thread was to fundraise.

If that's your interpretation (which I disagree with), what's the point in keeping this open? Close and make sticky, like they did on CFL. No questions allowed.

Questions ARE allowed. However, this thread is to promote the fundraising. Allowing the thread to be clouded with controversy, takes the focus off of the intent of the thread.
