GrassFire.org Presidential Straw Poll, Round two! (Same disrespect)

Remember we did very poor in their first presidential straw poll. This website is very illegal immigration oriented and there are a lot of neoconservatives here as well. Look at questions number 7 - 9 (especially 7) there was a lot of disrespect towards Ron Paul considering he's had the most Top 3 finishes in Republican Party straw polls out of ALL the canidates.

Let's go back to our roots overwhelmingly win this straw poll. This is a good one to destroy the competition on. Place your vote (leave #7 blank) and then forward this on to another Ron Paul list/website. You can also voice your displeasure for question number 7 on the posting for this poll that GrassFire.org made here in their forum:

Yeah just took this myself and then visited the forum .. not the kind of place Paul supporters get a good reception at. I personally don't have the stuff to post and argue with those types of people but those that do I think are very important and have my respect as who knows how many people read it and think harder about the issues and look further into Dr Paul.

The people at Alipac won't allow Grassfire links, because apparently Steve, the guy who runs Grassfire, worked with Alipac and collected signatures for a petition, then used the signatures on a different petition.

I voted, but I think it is a very poorly designed and deceptive poll (maybe not so poorly designed after all--maybe just what they intended)

I think your poll could use some improvement. Some of the questions have incomplete choices and could end up skewing the results in a particular direction without really representing the intent of the person responding. For instance, questions 8 and 9 do not have the option of "Write In."

Also question 13 is an example of the fallacy of the complex question or plurium interrogationum. It presupposes a liberal media bias. For many conservatives the media are not so much biased toward liberals as they are toward the status quo. For instance, in the run up to the invasion of Iraq the so called liberal NY Times and Washington Post were beating the war drums as loudly as Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity. We see the same thing today as preparations are being made to attack Iran.

The tradition conservative position has been to avoid unnecessary and unconstitutional wars, to work for reducing government, not building ever more powerful and ever more intrusive bureaucracies.

I also take exception to you characterizing John McCain as one of the top four candidates for the republican party. He is tanking in the polls, both traditional "scientific" polls and in many straw polls http://isilion.blogsome.com/2007/08/19/85/

You also include Fred Thompson as a Republican candidate even though he has not announced that he is running.

Based on you're previous poll my guess is you are actually supporting Thompson and this poll is designed to produce results that indicate he has overwhelming support among conservatives when in fact he does not. http://tinyurl.com/2fjphc

In my opinion Mike Huckabee, Tom Tancredo and Ron Paul have a far greater level of support among traditional Goldwater Republicans and they have the true conservative credentials to deserve that support.

I've noticed this, too. Same with other 'conservative' grassroot groups. I've written Grassfire many times pointing out things in a way the other poster did and never get a response. I'm sure they get tons of emails, but they have a status quo agenda and could care less about what we are saying. Who is this Steve guy and exactly who is paying him off? Or is he just a nimwit! :eek:

BIG CRITICISM for the poll.....listing so called 'top tier' candidates to pick from only in certain questions. They are acting no different than the MSM. They are trying to persuade their followers to support only certain candidates. I am guessing Guiliani and Romney from the questions. Who are they kidding? The least conservative of the bunch and the flip flopper mannequin. I believe Grassfire is a danger to reckon with. Just like the anti-war socialist/feminist groups and MoveOn.org. Never get a response from them either. I have never and will never contibute to any of these groups because of the bad things they promote and support. Signed the NAU petition for example, but no way in hell am I giving them money for which they could use to promote their hellish fascist or socialist agendas. They get rid of those agendas, will support them.

It even brought out the President of GrasFire.org (Steve Elliot) to defend his reasons on leaving Ron Paul out of question #7 even though they don't really add up.

Let's show GrassFire.org what blowback is all about! We need Ron Paul to win the poll questions he's in with about 80% of the vote! It's unacceptable he came in 7th place in their spring straw poll.

Also PLEASE do not troll or be disrespectful on there. There are plenty of Fred Thompson trolls and if they end up being insulting or just trolling than send a PM to the moderator (Sean Ivy), just look for him in the suspensions and bans forum.

Guys,

They had 91,000 votes cast in their spring straw poll. They will probably get more. We need about 80,000 votes cast for Ron Paul so we probably don't need to let us know we voted but PLEASE pass the word along so we can get the overwhelming victory for him on this poll.

They feature a story about the whole controversary about them leaving him out of question #7 on their home page at www.FireSociety.com

You guys are doing a great job. Because of this we have a LOT more Ron Paul supporters, and overall lovers of liberty in general over there posting and re-educating the masses and this apparently has caused the brownshirts to come out with their new moderating style.

Keep spreading the word about this particular straw poll, and keep educating the neocons over there about the Constitution, liberty, and Ron Paul!
