We can assume, beloved forum members, that Obama's noble granny of color will support him while it still remains uncertain what his racist white granny will do.

In the meantime, Obama has been giving a speech on the definition of patriotism. His speech has proved that he is a shallow mouthpiece to the den of vipers who stand behind and run his campaign while the den of vipers supporting John McCain are no different. Senator Obama isn't trying to define patriotism as a self evident truth; rather, he is just injecting whatever poison will be necessary to win an election. His goal is not to create a fresh American Movement but to run a false American Movement made up of obsolete legal precedents from the past Clinton years and the old civil rights days. While in his mind some of the American people will benefit, the implementation of such social policies has proven time and again that every citizen suffers as a consequence.

This is why we should consider campaigns as petty victories for tyrants while the acheivement of American Movements are victories for the people. The people standing behind American Movements won't exhibit the same wicked agendas as the people who stand behind corrupt campaigns because their goal is to reconsecrate that which is already cherished and considered Holy in the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution.

Patriotism is not a "self-evident truth." Patriotism can't even be applied the same for all Americans.

So say the lawyers who have become so corrupted in the cruel world that they have been made blind of the national dinner table. As a result, they argue on the side of tyranny as it eats off the plates of the lessor.
If the self evident truths and the unalienable rights aren't a greater power than the corrupt power of tyranny, then both the Declaration of Independence and U.S. Constitution are garbage while our nation has never been any more significant than any other.

I'm not quite following you...

Lets be clear, we are talking about defining patriotism, which isnt even manifested in clear, definable terms. That word shouldnt even be allowed in argument, as most of the time its just used to support or vilify for the sake of self-interest. Nothing to do with patriotism.

The definition of patriotism is different within the United States than in France, for example. While most systems of government depend on various political sciences to move their people to "become" citizens. We were established by our founding fathers as "being" citizens by the use of self evident truths and unalienable rights. In other words, we weren't divided up before we were conquered.

It was the collective whole in the United States who were established as "being" citizens. (Oh shit! I used the "C" word for cripes sake! Now I've done it!)
