"Supporting the troops" has been twisted by the Neoconservative powers that be. Rather than meaning keeping them out of harm's way, or bringing the realization to people that our men and women are dying every day, it apparently amounts to no more than putting a ribbon on the back of your car nowadays.

So true. If it weren't for these guys, most people would stay home watching American Idol and never even noticing there's still a war going on over there. I believe the flavor of the week is "offshore drilling" and (almost always) federal healthcare. I wonder what campaign issues will be important next week.
