Dear Representative

This bill has been successfully championed by the State of Arizona. (see AZ bill below). I thought you might be interested in introducing it in your State on behalf of the undersigned (get as many signatures as possible). The point of this bill is to stop the Federal Government from creating a National Identification System. This is a privacy, State's Rights issue, and a constitutional issue. The cost was the main reason why Arizona opted out of this "Federal" program. Nothing in this bill request would prohibit the department of motor vehicles from making ongoing improvements to the driver licensing system, drivers' licenses, or the driver license database or sharing driver's history information to other agencies entitled to receive the information

Proposed Language should mirror that of Arizona

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1. Title 28, chapter 2, article 2, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 28-336, to read:

28-336. REAL ID act; implementation prohibited

THIS STATE SHALL NOT PARTICIPATE IN THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE REAL ID ACT OF 2005 (P.L. 109-13, DIVISION B; 119 STAT. 302). AN ACT
AMENDING TITLE 28, CHAPTER 2, ARTICLE 2, ARIZONA REVISED STATUTES, BY ADDING SECTION 28-336; RELATING TO THE REAL ID ACT OF 2005.

APPROVED BY THE GOVERNOR JUNE 17, 2008.

FILED IN THE OFFICE OF THE SECRETARY OF STATE JUNE 17, 2008.

Please consider this proposed bill to stop the out of control spending and attack on the Constitution. Both political parties should be able to sponsor this bill in good faith for the American people.
