America is the first country to specifically enact a provision protecting the right of individuals to bear arms that is recognized by the government.
It is often argued that Switzerland does this as well but this is conscription, so this doesn't really count.
This is going to be some 4th of July!:D
PS, this doesn't take away the fact that rights are preexisting and we also have the right to jury nullification. The only reason it is exciting is because the government admits we have this preexisting right.
