No not Jesse Ventura. That's what I thought when I first saw the headline. Sonny Landham is running as the Libertarian party candidate. I know very little about him. I do like the movie predator though:) Some big hurdles he has to get over. Says he was a former porn actor which I didn't know. That might be a hurdle that is too steep. Wouldn't matter to me. I'm willing to bet he is a better choice than his competitors.

Schwarzenegger posed nude in gay magazines and he is the governor of California!
But then against the republicans backed him and protected him. This guy will have little protection.

This guy has turned out to be a real wackjob. He went on the radio and called for the genocide of all Arabs. I wish the LPKY would stop dragging its feet and get rid of him. This is why it is a bad idea to run celebrities without carefully vetting them first.

Party leaders will decide tomorrow or Tuesday whether Sonny Landham will run as a Libertarian for U.S. Senate in November after a series of anti-Arab and anti-Muslim remarks, the Kentucky party's chairman said yesterday.

Asked how the party could consider Landham as a candidate after he had called for the genocide of Arabs and Muslims, Ken Moellman said party leaders are exploring their options and looking at how any decision they make would affect other races. He was speaking on "The Weekly Filibuster," an Internet radio program on politics with student panelists.

In an interview Thursday with The Associated Press, Landham advocated turning away Arabs from entering this country and said the United States should have bombed Saudi Arabia, Syria, Iran and Afghanistan after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. He repeatedly referred to Arabs and Muslims using offensive language.

His comments were similar to those he had made a day earlier on "The Weekly Filibuster."

Addressing Landham's comments yesterday, Moellman said, "Obviously the party does not stand for that." He described the party as "pro-immigration or pro-legal immigration."

It's likely the party would not run another candidate against U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell and Democrat Bruce Lunsford if it were to abandon Landham, Moellman said.

"I don't know if we could find another credible candidate who would be willing to walk into that situation," he said.

Landham has said his supporters have gathered more than enough signatures to qualify him for the ballot, but Moellman said Landham is "not on the ballot yet, and we control the ballot access."

Landham, who is an actor, appeared in adult films early in his career before acting in several action movies, including "48 Hours" and "Predator."

Worse--Bedtime for Bonzo. Both he and the chimp were typecast, but the chimp was still more convincing...
