"I am pleased to report that last week we received notice that the Texas Department of Transportation will recommend the I-69 Project be developed using existing highway facilities instead of the proposed massive new Trans Texas Corridor/NAFTA Superhighway. According to the Texas Transportation Commissioner, consideration is no longer being given to new corridors and other proposals for a new highway footprint for this project. A major looming threat to property rights and national sovereignty is removed with this encouraging announcement."

It's good news on the I-69 corridor. However, nothing has changed on the I-35 corridor. The battle is far from over.

just like the terminator -- they'll be "bock" (back).

see this:
SuperCorridor Defeat? Don’t Bet On It

http://www.infowars.com/?p=2788

they just keep bringing up the same stuff until they get what they want. the opposition gets lulled into thinking they won and goes away.

what was that about the price of liberty being eternal vigilance?

How does this change anything? This is a power play if you ask me. What will happen is that they will try to toll the US 59, and if you live in Houston the one thing you hate more then the TTC is the amount of tolls on the west side, 59 and 290 will be the last two freeways without tolls. What will happen is that it will push the city of Houston residents against the rural area residents and guess who will win. Hopefully I am wrong though.

naaah... the liberal yuppies in austin want to see 290 tolled as far out of town as possible... and it ain't that far to houston.

Because that is the one I always heard about being used as the main corridor for the NAFTA superhighway.

Laredo to Houston through Beeville, Goliad and Victoria. On to New Orleans, I believe, and a splinter off up northward past the east side of Houston... bound for MO i think.

I would look into the neighboring "border states" as well to see if they are going another route and try to keep it more quiet this time. Keep an eye out, anytime they can't get something passed they simply rename it and toss in a "protect America" in the name and everyone eats it up.

For instance, here in Fresno there is this
http://www.cahighspeedrail.ca.gov

Which of course serves a purpose BUT HOW are they getting the land, money and other things needed for this large rail system. Fresno pushes eminent domain like it is no ones business and will happily take property from ANYONE to push their agenda and I think many large projects are going on in most states just on smaller scales or in pre-development stages.

If there is something they are trying to push in one state just wait for your state or cities turn.

Wait until the nuclear power plants start popping up everywhere lol..... oh wait let me call them CLEAN nuclear power lol..

We need to stop them from doing anything that will take from us.

Maybe. He was talking about I-69. He didn't say a thing about I-35, which to my understanding is the major NAFTA superhighway.

I-69

They are turning one of the only two roads out of the Rio Grand Valley (southern tip of texas) to toll roads and changing the name from hwy 77 to I-69. The signs have been up here for years. I guess they have been getting us used to it so we don't complain too much. The only way to get to the north would be to pay the toll. It may be on hwy 281 (the second hwy leading to the north) also but I'm not sure. That's in the county over from us so I haven't paid too much attention to it.

I can't stand the thought of having to pay to get out of here. How wrong is that? Especially when our taxes have already paid for the roads. Talk about double taxation!

It is a never-ending battle, but it must be fought, and can be won. I am proud to stand with my constituents in this fight, and in the other fights we have ahead of us.

I wish I was one of Ron Paul's constituents. :D

Be vigilant this could be a trick to let us think we won. It could be a good way to throw a few people off that were really giving them a hard time. Did they ever give us an option to use the Die Bold machine voting system?

Maybe it is to be privately funded like the NAFTA highway???

Then leased to Spain and then Spain will collect the tolls/fees like the NAFTA highway?

Something like that possibly. And, naturally, RFID will be required to drive them no doubt.

I agree. They are selling these 99 year leases to Spain in Indiana, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Illinois, etc. Private funding for publice roads in America. A bunch of money up front to the government adn percentage of future tolls. The governors must all be salivating.

They will definitely be bak to finish raping this country.
