Meet Up W/ Campaign Official

The Chicago Group was contacted by Anita Andrews from the Ron Paul Campaign. She is currently in the Midwest, and she would like to meet with our group Tuesday. 08/28.

This meeting will start at 7:00 sharp, so please try your best to get there on time. You are always welcome to get there early and eat dinner before the meeting begins. We are meeting in the usual place: the party room to the right after you walk in the door. There is a free parking lot just west of the restaurant.

Have you checked out this woman's bona fides? I have not heard of anyone at the national campaign by that name. There is no-one named "Anita" or "Andrews" in the campaign's automated telephone directory. I have an email from a member of the national organizers' meetup group, (number 511), expressing concern about someone going by that name and promoting a "National Contact List" other than the one at RonPaul2008.com.

I too have been warned that "Anita Andrews" is not officially part of the campaign, and that she actually works for John Clifton.

Apparently the "Clifton Coalition" (http://anonym.to/?http://groups.yahoo.com/group/P-4-P/) is presenting itself as a legitimate and official arm of the Campaign, but there is no reason to believe that they are any such thing.

It was placed there three days after I made that post and after many people contacted campaign HQ to ask about Ms. Andrews' status as an official of the campaign.

The email warning I received stating that she works for the Clifton Coalition is apparently incorrect, according to officials of the Ron Paul 2008 PCC.

I have apologized elsewhere to Ms. Andrews for any confusion or damage I may have caused and the mistake has been rectified, but you already knew that. :cool:
