speech

Edwards did admit to attending the meeting, echoing statements he made to We Are Change where he told cameras that he did attend, but declined to explain why there is so much secrecy. Edwards replied, "That’s a good question; you should ask them that."

How is attending a meeting Treason? Jesus....

First off, he is a liar.

Secondly, he is involved in secret meetings without the knowledge of you.

Or are you a citizen?

Is he an elected official?

He was when he went.

Is he an elected official?

More importantly, was he there AS an elected official?

No, its not treason to attend a meeting. The threadline of this thread is overblown and hysterical.

It depends on what the meeting was about. If it was about political business, then it was treason. Obviously, John Edwards thinks it was about political business or he wouldn't think it was treasonous.

Guess you don't hold your elected members to account.

No wonder they piss on you.

Doesn't happen in my country.

Nonsense. "Political business" covers a hell of a lot of territory.

Obviously, John Edwards thinks it was about political business or he wouldn't think it was treasonous.

Who thought it was "treasonous"? John Edwards or the OP? If it was John Edwards who thought it was "treasonous", then he's got mental problems and should be in a rubber room somewhere. If it was the OP who thought it was "treasonous", then he needs to carefully read the Public Law outlining exactly what treason really is and understand why this was NOT.

Open Government.

If you choose not to hold them accountable...

You sow what you reap.

Lazy asses.

Tell it to Richard Nixon.

No wonder they piss on you.

Sorry, but no. Not my perversion. But hey, whatever makes you happy ...

Doesn't happen in my country.

All Australian elected officials are honest and true (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Australian_political_controversies), never take a dime of money that isn't theirs, and hug little bunny rabbits in harmony with Gaia every day? Lawl.

Sorry you cant cop it sweet mate.

We withdrew 500 fighting soldiers out of Iraq last week.

Why?

Cause the voters said so. If they hadn't followed through...

They would have been turfed.

Don't suppose our troop withdrawal would have made the headlines there.

Yes, its all over the news here.

I find it hard to say anything bad about Australia the country and its people - almost to a man they have been true friends to us throughout their history. And when I go back (which I hope is soon), I want to explore the Western part of the country. I've been to Sydney twice, once while not in the military. Lots of great memories.

Doesn't happen in my country. No just to the minority of the voters! The ones that DON'T get what they wanted and voted for! Yet still get taxed to pay for it. :p
