All across the country our meetup groups are doing great things, but I am still concerned about the lack of MSM coverage.

What percentage of Americans do you think know who Ron Paul is?

A sizeable percentage of our country could not identify who Rudy Giulani was if you asked them.

I think it is under 10% but higher among younger people - probably in the 20-30% range. They don't always seem to know who he is but they've heard the name.

I think it's 5-10%. I bet Obama's is no higher than 60-70%.

I would also say that among the politically astute -aka, political junkies - it's probably close to 100%
This should be a benefit to us come primary time. After all, it is the political junkies who vote in primaries.

After watching this video I suspect a sizable percentage of our country could not locate their own ass if you asked them:

Hehe, I saw that this morning too. Funny stuff.

It is possible that his name recognition is under 10%.

A few other points for those that are feeling defeatist:

We've gone from essentially 0 support 4 months ago to 3% in landline polls, 37,000 meetup members and growing by several hundred daily, straw poll wins in several states, several million dollars in the bank and intrade odds over 5%. Who's to say we can't do nearly as well in the next 4 months? Pat Buchanan was in the single digits in national polls a week before the 1996 New Hampshire primary and won the darn thing -- given where we are in August, the tools we have at our disposal, the message, and the mood of the country, we can definitely win this thing.

When I joined my Meetup group on June 25th, there were 20 members (I was the 20th member) and about 15,000 nationwide.

Now my meetup group has 80, with 37,000 nationwide!

Our momentum is up, not down...no one else can say that.!!!

Very good point. I voted in the 10-20%. I am encouraged in the street because more and more people have heard of him.

I absolutely agree. We are definitely on the right track. I think we are doing great work out there.

The MSM blackout could actually be a positive influence on the campaign since we are that much more inspired to take the message to the street.
