My father in law, RD Close gave me this today. He's an energetic, clear headed, intellectually sharp 80 year old with a bend toward libertarian politics. One of his claims to fame was knowing Harry Browne. He voted for Ron Paul in the Illinois primary.
He gave me this writing of his "preditctions" today. I thought I'd share with evereyone and see if you had any comments.
I think he's right on.
The Ten Steps To Freedom (A Prediction)
1. Obama and Hillary Clinton along with a liberal majority of legislators
will win the election of2008.
2. The new administration will begin to disengage the military from foreign
involvement.
3. Due to heavy taxation imposed on large corporations to hide taxes they
will fail causing large bailouts to prevent huge losses of jobs.
4. A new wave of violence will blanket the nation overloading the police
force through over taxing to maintain peace.
5. A major depression along with the attempt of the federal government to
correct the problem by over expanding the money system will cause
famine over the world and the collapse of the monetary system.
6. Citizens, led by members of the old military veterans, will form a new
national political party based on the constitution, bringing about reform
that is truly workable due to the acceptance of the moral laws as a guide.
7. Family ties will strengthen with a resulting return to churches and charity
for those who actually need help.
8. Old ideas of a strong central government with heavy taxation and control
will disappear and be replaced by limitations of constitutional law.
9. New additions to the Bill Of Rights will ensure a new policy of
monetary rights against over taxation and allow the citizens the power to
remove elected officials from office.
10. The world will become more peaceful and new alliances for world trade
with limitations on regulation of commerce will begin. A new world
monetary system will smooth the flow of services over the world.
