It turns out that I misspoke, and actually the state representation is
pretty good, after adjusting representation based on each state's
population estimates.

letter to GOP (http://www.lettertogop.com/).

Nonetheless, If you are in one of the underrepresented states, do something
about this! Write to your meetup groups and tell them about the site. Get
meetup organizers to get in contact with other meetup organizers to spread
the word.

I stand corrected. The new figures take population of each state into
account and the new pca value shows the representative value for each
state based on their population estimates from the census office.

thanks sidster:),once we get to 10,000 we will also release press releases to the media;) we have almost 1200 unverified not yet on the list,so i have my work cut out getting that list down ,email errors or spam or issues with link, either way a majority have numbers ,so i have some admin work to do now:)

thank you for your stats;)

Considering that California has 50 times the population that Montana has, but has less than 10 times the sigs, I'd say California needs to step up.

Also your statistical analysis should be a per capita analysis, not simply based on total sigs.

Good point! I'll see if I can get population data incorporated in my
stats in the future.

Since California has just above 10% of America's population (33 million+/300 million+), I say they are just above what should be there representation, while Montana is well above where they should be at.

Ah, I even overestimated the population of California at 50 million, but I think the point has been made by both of us. State by state statistics aren't very representative unless you include a per capita analysis. If you wanted to get a little fancier you could use total votes for Paul by state rather than total population.

Not gonna get that fancy, but I have added a new percentage showing
state representation in the letter-to-gop signature counts based on each
state's population.
