Can we?

If so, let's do it all at once.

I think we should all bring huge piles of monopoly money and dress up like Moneybags, maybe stage an anti-Fed play?

I would SECOND the MONOPOLY(tm) MONEY... you don't want to be carrying a bunch of photocopies of anything that could in ANY WAY be construed as "counterfeit" money... don't give them ANY excuses.

But if you have colored MONOPOLY MONEY -- well not even US Courts would construe THAT as counterfeit, and no jury would ever allow a cop to get away with testilying that he "thought" it might be real FRN's. The laughter in the courtroom would be heard for miles.

And besides, it makes the same point... that FRN's are basically no different than monopoly money... they're all just fancy printed pieces of paper with nothing behind them.

I would love to see a ton of funny dressed fake bankers with money bags at the march. It would be so cool if we could do a scene of some sort, yeah I know too much to think about.

If we could get a marching band who already has a routine and then just change up the outfits OR add something to their outfits to make it fit.

Have them play a battle song and let the march get moving.

I like that banker pic lol.

Burning anything will get us in trouble but I love the concept. We're planning a small picket in front of the Federal Reserve on Friday. http://www.revolutionmarch.com/marchdetails.aspx These ideas would be great for that venue!

So, we would need to find a symbolic gesture that won't get us in trouble.

Hhmmm....

Yes, top hats and coat tails for all! xD

Perhaps some of us could role play historical market events?

Any actors? :p

The monopoly money idea is great! I'd like to make an A frame of the monopoly board and wear it with money pasted all over it and me! Hahahahha!

How about we just burn real 1's instead. If we can coordinate it to do it all at the same time I don't think people would mind literally burning a few dollars and would make for some awesome awesome pictures.

Street theater is a good way to protest. Don't forget to tell the media.

http://www.conservativeaction.org/events.php3?article=2000/teabag

CIC members recently added their voices of opposition to the IMF and World Bank. CIC members, dressed in blue-and-white colonial garb, distributed flyers, w/ attached tea bags, stating: "Remember the Boston Tea Party. Stop fleecing the American taxpayer. Abolish the IMF & World Bank!" This was peaceful street theater. The violent and disruptive groups represent bad political street theater. Over 70 blocks of downtown Washington were closed off Monday and over 1,300 total arrest were made. "While all of us in the streets share opposition to these globalist institutions, CIC's message is distinct and resonates with most Americans,"

Fire in DC is bad, and I think the MSM would portray us as anti-american radicals for burning the fiat currency. I prefer tearing up monoploly money and 1 Dollar FRNs at the same time, showing there is no difference between the two.

A group of these guys walk up to the Fed tossing monopoly money out of their bags, regular folk follow behind picking up the bills, the bankers bags run empty in front, a lackey comes "from" the building and gives them fresh stacks, they walk away tossing bills from their bags...

Wouldn't we be increasing the value of the dollar by destroying dollar bills? Seems like a Quasi-patriotic thing to do. Of course, the money could go to charity, and you know thats what the press would say.

Burn a UN flag.

Is burning without consent (permit) a criminal offense?

Is this a non-smoking march?

It's a thought. Here's another one. Have the face of a dollar bill printed on business cards and hand them out. On the back, have printed something like, "They were more than twice this big when I put them back for a rainy day..."

As a reflection of the 1915 purchasing power, they can only be printed ~3% of the original size. Pretty tough to read that way. :D

Idea: print the 3% size box on the back of the card too. :)

How about a flyer? Show a silver certificate in actual size and label it, "The dollar, 1908." Then reduce an FRN to three percent of actual size and label it, "The dollar, 2008." Then put in a snappy summary.

Maybe, "Ever dream of being a millionaire? Soon you will be. Soon you'll have to be just to buy gas."

Meh. Like the idea, but needs a snappier summary.

Burning ANYTHING near the Capitol is a very bad idea and not likely to do Dr. Paul any favors. The Capitol police do not have a sense of humor about such things. ;)

Aratus
07-08-2008, 12:26 PM
Bradley in DC knows this one. In the 1960s and 1970s, people burned their draft cards and also "old glory" so... if we

do likewise, we look more radicalized in a loose general way and less focused on the immediate goals of the march...

the radical left has already done every theatrical PR publicity gambit in the book... the cops could go into a rote reflex mode...
