I could do the same thing myself and be assured the money actually went to the campaign. What is the payoff here? A counter on how much money raised or something?

Edit: Never mind, I looked at it more closely. I'm just wary of people acting as middle men for donations to the Ron Paul campaign as it takes off.

I thought only so much money is allowed to be donated to candidates? What about the extra cash then if this is true? Pocket it or will he buy RP items and give them away for free?

I think it's a great idea. It says on the site "You yourself will then get notification and a thank you for your donation from Ron Paul and his campaign staff via email" so it's legit.
