The head of my meetup group sent out an e-mail and asked the members to pass this on so I am doing that. What a terrible loss.

I am saddened to report the death of Eric Davenport. A fellow meetup member and a great human being, his life was cut short by a traffic accident on Saturday night. Anyone who spent time in the Ron Paul office, knew Eric and his wife Dani, because of the countless hours they put in. As the arrangements are made I will post the information for all those wishing to pay their respects.

Anyone wishing to send their condolences to Mrs. Davenport or wanting to help out with the cost..Here is her mailing address

Danielle Davenport
18731 SW 344 Terrace
Florida City, FL 33034

If you happen to be part of any other meetup group please pass this news and information on to others. We are all family, and any help that Dani can receive would be greatly appreciated at this time.

Cars are a damn menace. People really need to focus on driving cautiously. Death and serious injury from auto accidents is disturbingly common in the U.S. It's so common that it hardly ever makes the news, and people don't even think about it until it hits close to home. My cousin was killed when he was 21 in a car accident. I was nailed by a hit and run driver and left unconscious in the middle of a freeway. If you live long enough you're bound to attend some funeral of a person killed in a car.

Must we go around comparing human lives?

No, not really, but we do have some Tim Russert groupies in here who think a Soldier being killed in Iraq is not as important as Mr. Russerts death, with reason being he was a public figure, or 'news rock star'.....

Mr. Russert had the bully pulpit, and chose to use his influence to further the demise of our country, and i say that because he never, ever spoke out about what we all know to be true on whats going on around us. Not a peep, or even a question.

I give Scott McClelland the award for getting his conscience back, as an example. Russert was a shill, and borderline evil. IMHO.

My thoughts and prayers to our brother and his family in the Revolution.

This is my point exactly in the Russert thread. Emotional response is based on WHAT YOU DID, not the fact that you lived (what are you going to DO with the life? Russert: Clog up the National Mind. Ron Paul supporter: fight for freedom of country. Big difference.)

I knew that someone would say this. For the record, I consider every soldier's life even more important than Russert's in many ways. It is why I am vehemently anti-war, the economic cost and blowback is secondary.

This thread is not about that, it is about the tragic death of a fellow supporter. Have some respect.

I agree. I also hate riding in cars in general. You have a budding feeling that fate / death is very happy this kind of transportation was invented.

So peculiar... I've never run into others who feel this. Maybe we really are paranoid...

But then... Terrible tragedies like this do occur.

How about sharing a story about Eric and his involvement with the R3volution to maybe help inspire others as well, and as a tribute to him.

I mean it's just a shame when so many able bodied supporters sit by idly and do nothing and heroes like Eric pass away.

Ok, I went to the supermarket, bought Danielle a sympathy greeting card, wrote in the greeting card about how RonPaulForums members feel and want to help, invited her to come here so she can read what all of you have said and printed out the chip-in so she knows that help is on the way...and I sent all of that plus a donation check via postal mail to Danielle at her Florida City, FL address

Anyone want to do the same?

I met her at Dean Santoro's house after the general election (He's a Ron Paul Republican running for office in South Florida) and she told me that the jerk who killed her husband remains unpunished.
