A real shame. Was one of the best interviewers.

Holy shit. I'm shocked. I thought the thread title was some kind of joke.

Hm. Well, not in my book. I won't miss him. 58, however, is too damn soon for anyone to go. If you knew him personally, please accept my condolences.

Were there any Clintons in the area?

Wow...what a shock...I don't agree with his politics but you never want to see someone go so young.

I'm completely shocked as well. Very sad.

Tim Russert's finest hour was when he had Congressman Paul on "Meet the Press," in my opinion. Congressman Paul made him look foolish, though.

Oh, so he died of a Heart-Attack eh? MSNBC didn't say what he died of--figures...

Either way, I don't like the man one bit, but it's a shame he died before 70.

He died while recording something for NBC. I wonder if that footage will ever leak out?

The network said Russert suffered a heart attack while at work and could not be revived. He had just returned from a family vacation in Italy to celebrate the graduation of his son, Luke, from Boston College.

That's horrible. He and his family are in my prayers - regardless what political affiliation anyone has, a death that young when you have children is horrendous.

I don't think Dr. Ron Paul is the kind of person who makes others look foolish with the use of style like John Kennedy did or even lawyer Obama does today. Not only does Ron convey substance instead but I think he is attractive when he does so. Not attractive in that his speech is clean and his mannerisms polished but he has a hard earned virtue about him -- not as a lawyer but a doctor -- while he serves as a role model to the young by expressing a clear window to the founding fathers and the U.S. Constitution.

I remember one of my favorite links I ever found here was this:

Russert was good at making politicians show their true colors. His positions were usually kept obscured, though. That's the mark of a great news person.
