I am deeply saddened at the news that Ron Paul is dropping out. I fought long and hard for Ron Paul in the GOP, but to be honest asking for liberty with in the gop is like asking hitler for freedom in the nazi party. I see no reason to stay Republican in the future... The movement will move forward but not from with in the gop. I know some will disagree ,but if you believe the gop will save this country, then ron paul is still running.

I will support freedom and the movement, but supporting local republicans is not the answer, supporting anyone but a republican is the only way to kill the gop, we do not need to save the gop, we need to push the gop off the cliff and say good riddens.
just my opinion, i'm truly disgusted with what i see on www.ronpaul2008.com...

as for the gop, they can go to hell.

Ron Paul shouldn't of dropped out period!!!!!!!! We have let the gop have a free ride and we are now muted in the gop.. the gop is useless..... I'm so frustrated....

i guess it's time for me to remove my ron paul signs and replace with lp/cp signs ,no reason to support a failing gop, there is not one republican in colorado worth voting for except george lilly, that's sad......

I want to campaign against republicans, i want to campaign against the gop.
I will not support any republicans who support mccain or support the gop, PERIOD:mad:

Ron Paul is still a part of the Republican Party. You can't make a sweeping generalization and say that all Republicans (or Democrats, for that matter) are bad. They just need to be...umm...enlightened. That's why we're here!

Keep those Ron Paul signs posted. Be proud of what you've accomplished.

I may be wrong, but didn't he need to drop out to free up the campaign money he had in the bank?

You don't have to remain a Republican if you don't feel that is the party you truly belong to, but not all Republicans are our enemies. :)

well then ron paul should consider leaving the republican party. we will never be welcomed as republicans . I will be looking for a better party to join. If only the lp had nominated Mary Ruwart. I dont have to be republican to vote for a good republican at a local level, ooo yeah there are no good republicans running in Colorado, except george lilly. I do not have to be republican to vote for him in the general. My support will go to a LP/CP candidate that wants me in their party. I'm not judging all republicans ,but im not wasting my time in a failed gop,let the gop die . that would help the freedom movement more then proping up a nazi party(GOP)

Kenny, wasn't it you the other day who wrote that wonderful post, where you said you were not going to stop in your effort to take over the GOP? Surely, you knew in your heart of hearts that we were not going to do that overnight. Just because Ron is dropping out, does not mean that what you have done is wasted. Far from it. We now have a group of people who are MUCH more educated about party politics, Roberts Rules of Order and how to BECOME the GOP, from the ground floor on up.

It was always a wing and a prayer that we could win the presidency, the first time around. Even if he HAD, by some miracle, he would not have had the power to fix everything that is wrong. The presidency is not a dictatorship, right? I was always told that the way to change things, was to get good people in office from the ground floor on up. That means local government, state government and then of course, federal, at all levels.

It's your choice, but I personally still believe that the GOP is ripe for the picking. Like they have never been before in history. It still won't be easy, but if we're going to do it, we have to stay engaged. You know as well as I do, that the GOP has very little support right now. The party elite are COUNTING on us giving up. Think about it, Kenny. From what I understand, Ron Paul's new group is going to be there to help us continue this fight and help give us the tools and knowledge to better play this political game. This is FAR from over, Kenny. Don't give up.

Ron Paul himself said that he is the TRUE representative of the Republican party, that he is a true Republican. If anyone should leave, it should be the rest of those poseurs in the GOP. However, I believe the party has just lost their way...they need to return to their principles.

Definitely vote for people you believe in, regardless of party affiliation. I think constitutionalists are everywhere....they just need a little prodding!

and the gop wants us?

The GOP was taken over. It's THOSE people who do not want us. Who cares what THEY want. If WE become the GOP, it will become OUR PARTY once again.

The traditional conservatives didn't want the neocons, either. But, the neocons knew how to play the game (something we RP people are just now learning --- trial by fire) and out-maneuvered them, before they even knew what was happening. IT'S TIME FOR THEM (Neocons) and all the rest of the big government socialists TO GO.

Are you going to let them get away with this, Kenny? You don't strike me as ANY kind of quitter and I know you are not.

well that money could of stayed in the bank till sept 2nd, the point is to battle the neo-cons in the party till convention day,no point now, we will not have any ideas pushed onthe convention floor . We basically told the gop we give up, no matter how ron paul spins this and supporters , we gave up in the republican party for what? to accept mccain as the nominee, ooo god, this is the worst day in my life, the best day was fighting for RON PAUL at the Colorado Convention. I was going to St Paul, but i cannot justify going into debt ,when my candidate is no longer running. I guess we have to wait till next election Chuck Baldwin is my only option left. GOD, I'm sick to my stomach, I'm literally SICK OVER THIS:(

Do you understand what we're telling you?? THIS IS NOT OVER...Ron Paul is STILL our fearless leader. He has unveiled a much STRONGER campaign....he had to suspend his "official" campaign so he could focus his energy on this new project. Why would you feel sick about this? This is awesome news!

Give up? HELL NO, we don't give up! And they only win, if we do! Ron Paul has changed a lot of things, Kenny and he has brought a lot of us together. Now, only if all of us would be as active as YOU have been, in getting involved and learning the political ropes.

Seriously, don't fall into the trap of thinking that the federal government is the only thing that matters. It does NOT. There is a lot of power, still, at the state and local levels and we're not going to affect change until we take them over too. There's a lot to do and you are badly needed in this fight.

That's exactly what the GOP establishment wants is for us to go away. The best way for us to have an impact on politics is within one of the major parties. We have to take back the GOP. If it is too tough for you then just say so, but don't try disrupting the goals of the revolution.(taking back the GOP is one of the major goals)

I suggest you watch G. Edward Griffin's google video called" An idea whos time has come"
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=6015291679758430958&q=an+idea+whos+time+has+come&ei=OnhSSKCROoOgrwKm4O3UDA

third parties have little influence in politics because of the laws. Lets take back the GOP from these "pirates"

Oh yes we do have leverage. They know we're in the GOP and learning the ropes, fast. They damn sure know it and the party elite are scared to death. :) We are the only passion in the GOP and you know it. All we have to do is keep at it, finesse our approach maybe a little and stay strong. There are elections all the time, Kenny. Stop thinking the presidential election is the only one.

I know you're bummed out. It's perfectly understandable. But, I also think I've come to know you well enough to know that you'll be back and will get back on the proverbial horse again.

Remember, that the party elite WANT us to give up and will be doing everything within their power over the next months to discourage us and make us fold. Remember that we will not be in this alone now. We all know there are quite a few of us and we'll also have Ron's new organization to help us.

I'm definitely sad that we won't get to see our man take the oath of office next February, but he is in no way leaving us. He's still out there, fighting for us, and he needs our help, so let's do this!!

Kenny, sorry to see you're a bit pissed. Understandable, though.

LE and SL make some excellent points below.

I have seen plenty of stories of rank and file GOP waking up because of the shoddy treatment we have received at the hands of a few criminals at the top. The whole process is mega-important and we will have influence on the floor. It won't be a majority, but we have truth and justice on our side. Your moral indignation is the most powerful motivator in politics, please channel it in the direction RP is leading. It is the quickest peaceful route towards our goals

+1,000,000 Campaign for Liberty members.

And it isn't over anyway. This frees up the money and his time for the official launch and rally on September 2nd. It's the beginning of something enormous, where this phase was something huge. And all his delegates will still support him.
