"Once we're all on the ballot, each party had equal status in the eyes of the voters," said Munger, a Duke University professor. "It's a breach of trust for these organizations ... to exclude the Libertarians without explanation."

This is not a good thing for our state, we need to put the pressure on the two parties and the hosts of these debates, NOW.

Silly, he cut his hair a long time ago, just saw him last week, he seems very nice and has a very down to earth manner. I like his views also.

His views are very appealing, but I still don't believe Libertarians are ready to jump to trying serious elections for governor.

I'm not a Libertarian, I'm a Republican, but I like his view point.

So... what can we do? Who do we write or call?

The two parties can't get away with this without a decent fight and/or some guilt trip applied.

also.. Munger is polling at 4% in NC and is pulling a lot of his vote from McCrory, so you might think that the Democrats would be trying (behind the scenes of course) to get Munger in the debates. Maybe Democrats aren't that smart?

This is a list of newspapers in Gaston and Mecklenburg
County. a friend put it together four years ago, so some of
the information might be out of date. There are also a
couple of Spanish-language papers. No doubt there are
other non-English papers. I don't have the information
for those

Are Coke and Pepsi smarter trying to get people who drink the other cola to drink Royal Crown or are they smarter doing what they do--i.e. trying to convince people that either Royal Crown doesn't exist or it doesn't matter?

The first way Royal Crown might eat into their competitor's market more than theirs, but it will eat into their market. The second way their main competitor may sell more but so do they as the two split Royal Crown's market.

I remember when Ford and Chevy did the same thing to Dodge Trucks. Dodge did the only thing you can do besides take it--they shoved it up their competitors' rumps and broke it off. That, if you'll recall, was in '94. They used excellent fresh styling and a turbodiesel. So, what can the Libertarian Party come up with that's as good as fresh styling and a hot diesel?

Actually, there's been a wrinkle in the above ommission about Munger being left out of the debate. The "other" parties may not have "officially" gotten the word from the state that the Libertarian Party is on the ballot.

Be that as it may, it's common knowledge that they are on the ballot and this appears to be a clear snub.

It's interesting to note that the Gub debate scheduled earlier this year at Queens College (in Charlotte), where Munger was invited to debate before they were officially on the ballot, has been cancelled and another debate has been scheduled in Charlotte, around the same time.......

I'll keep you posted

Same old, same old, I'm afraid. I've been involved with LP campaigns for longer than I care to remember. They GOP and Dem establishment candidates always manage to find a way or a reason to exclude the Libertarian from debates. On the rare occasion when a well-spoken, well-presenting LP candidate does get into a debate, he/she generally picks up 2 to 4 percentage points above the usual LP result. At least that's what I've observed.
